Gemden Lodge Bush Escape, the perfect destination for a relaxing weekend away. A place of peace and perfect serenity. A true bush escape, yet so close to the city. Wake to the sights and sounds of native flora and fauna and share your breakfast with the horses. Our newly built cabins give comfortable, modern luxury accommodation, situated on a private 52 acre horse property, 1 hour from Sydney, 10mins from the historical town of Picton and the gateway to the Southern Highlands.

The space
You can do as little or as much as you like. Relax on a shady deck. Watch horses graze. Read a book or enjoy a bushwalk. You are in charge. Head out on the local farm gate trail or explore and lunch in Picton. Maybe you would prefer a country drive to visit the glorious Southern Highlands Vineyards. Then in the late afternoon, pour a drink, turn on some tunes and watch as the kangaroos and wallabies emerge for an early evening graze. Fire up the BBQ and bask in the afternoon sun. Before long you will be bewitched by a glorious sunset, the slow emergence of a million stars and the cozy comfort of a blazing camp fire.
If it’s a digital detox you are looking for, relax, there is no wifi or tv. Some guests choose to stay in touch via their own devices. Mobile coverage is poor, so it's advisable to download music and movies before arriving.

We have two cabins on our property, both cabins are on separate sides of the property, so they remain very private. Ask your friends to book our Bush Retreat cabin and make it a group getaway.

During your stay

We live on the property, however our residence can’t be seen from the cabin. You are free to enjoy peaceful privacy. We only have contact with you if you need something; otherwise we leave you to enjoy your stay.
As our guests, you will have exclusive access to the cabin and surrounds and feel free to explore the rest of our property. Your dogs are welcome (prior permission required when booking). Dogs must be well behaved and sociable with both people and other dogs. Please note the property is not fully fenced, so a dog lead run is supplied. If you are going out, you can choose to leave your dog in our secure kennel enclosure, located near the main lodge.

Horses are welcome (prior permission when booking), at an extra charge of $15 per night, per horse. Your horse will be in a paddock right in front of your accommodation. You are required to supply all feed. You will have access to our sand arena, round yard and riding trails. (waiver must be signed before unloading horses).
All linen and basic pantry provisions provided coffee pod machine, kettle, toaster, single stove top, refrigerator and BBQ supplied.
