Ready for a Lake Wedowee / Tallapoosa River holiday? Reserve this downstairs studio for a fun-filled holiday. With a separate entrance and no interior stairs, you can be assured of your privacy! It is right on the water with a covered pavilion and dock, a paddle boat, kayak, and canoe all waiting for you. Come swim, boat, or fish for a few days! The home is on a paved county road only a mile or so from a public boat ramp.
UPDATE: Alabama Power Company lowers the water level beginning Oct. 1.

For less than you might spend for a single hotel room, this downstairs studio is the perfect getaway spot for you and your family or friends. The space sleeps 6, but an additional small bed (twin sleeper) for a child can be used if needed.
Bedroom 1: Queen Bed | Bedroom 2: 2 Queen Beds | Family Room: twin sleeper.
OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE: 4-season deck w/ outdoor dining table, 2 chaise lounge chairs, firepit table (think- S'mores!), outdoor speaker system, covered patio with ceiling fans, charcoal grill, fire pit table, dock, ping pong table, second screened pavilion with large lake mat, life vests, yard games and fishing gear available for you, two jet ski ports, a paddle boat, a two-seater kayak, a canoe, and life preservers. Due to liability issues, we no longer provide inflatable rafts or toys. However, you may bring your own; an air pump is in the suite.
FOOD PREP AREA: coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, 2-burner induction cooktop, a full-size refrigerator, granite countertops, sink, disposable cups, plates, cutlery, and BBQ grilling utensils. Some breakfast food, including coffee, supplied just in case you didn't make it to the store before coming!
INDOOR LIVING: flat-screen cable TV, Jack and Jill style bathroom with double vanity, toilet, and large shower but no bathtub.
GENERAL: Linens and towels supplied, washer/dryer, central A/C and heat,
PARKING: Driveway (4 vehicles)

-By renting this space, guests agree that swimming and boating is done at your own risk and hold the host harmless in the event of a mishap.
- NO smoking inside, but the patio has two ashtrays
-Dog friendly with $25 fee per dog-maximum of 2 dogs (sorry, allergic to cats)
- If evidence of a pet is found on the property without the fee being paid prior
to arrival, this will result in an additional $300 fine
- No events, parties or large gatherings
- Must be at least 25 years old to book
- Additional fees and taxes may apply

Though I am in my sixties, as of November, 2019, I am a newlywed! My husband Steve and I are excited to begin hosting our lake home guest suite in Wedowee, Alabama with Airbnb. We have stayed as guests in many Airbnb sites for several years in many locations. We have taken note of the extras that good hosts provided, and we are determined to give our guests a wonderful visit! My work schedule means that sometimes I/we would be on the main floor level, but other than welcoming you or solving problems, I will leave you to your fun. I certainly respect my guest's right to privacy.

I love books, music, and live entertainment. I retired two years ago from a 37-year career in education. I take dance classes, and play a bit of Texas Hold 'Em poker from time to time. I love to travel, and I am thrilled by the opportunities offered by Airbnb! Steve has his own fencing company and is just not ready to retire yet.

As a guest, I would always be respectful of someone's property, neat, and quiet (if quiet was important to the host). I do not smoke, but I do drink in social settings (not to excess).

My life motto would have to be "Ancora imparo", which means "Still, I learn" or "I am still learning". If we stop learning, we stagnate and stop growing.
