A charming quintessentially English 16th century detached cottage situated in the hamlet of Orlestone just outside the village of Hamstreet and as featured in The Wealden Times Lifestyle Magazine. Two great pubs minutes' drive away. Set in the Kent countryside surrounded by open farmland and nature reserve woodlands perfect for walking and cycling, pub lunches and exploring - historic buildings, brilliant beaches, great shopping, wonderful places to eat and vineyards aplenty.

The space
This pretty grade II listed detached cottage is approached by its original brick paths and two acres of grounds and gardens. It has a natural pond and views extending to fields and woodland beyond. The property is conveniently situated between the Wealden town of Tenterden and Ashford which has a 37 minute high speed link to London. Medieval Rye, Hastings, Canterbury, Dover and the Eurotunnel all within easy reach. Camber beach is twenty minutes away as is the charming seaside town of Hythe. Close to acres of woodland and countryside accessible on foot. Seven minutes away from Gusbourne Vineyards and five minutes drive away from several gastro pubs. Ashford Designer Outlet, Ashford International Station and the new Curious Brewery are just ten minutes away. We are fifteen minutes from Chapel Down Vineyard, twenty-five minutes from Sissinghurst Castle Gardens and Great Dixter, forty minutes from Canterbury and one hour from Tunbridge Wells. The village of Hamstreet with its train station (Brighton/Rye/Bexhill/Hastings line) is two minutes away where there is a convenience store, a tea room, a curry house, a pub, a garden centre with coffee shop and The Royal Military Canal for walks and cycle paths to Hythe and Rye.

Beautiful cottage gardens to enjoy with Summerhouse and terrace area with chairs, table, parasol for warm days and BBQ. Sun loungers and various further seating areas in the gardens.

3 double bedrooms, 2 upstairs bathrooms, downstairs cloakroom, study/work space in designated office with view overlooking very pretty grounds and garden. Sleeps up to six adults with plenty of space for further small blow-up bed and cot. Egyptian cotton dressed beds - crisp linen. Perfect for a good night's sleep. The huge Master Bedroom has original fireplace, double aspect windows overlooking pretty gardens and fields, large ensuite bathroom, walk-in cupboard, shower, w/c and hand basin. All bedrooms have luxurious linen and towels included.
