Over 1200 sq. feet of spacious and fully contained house with its own private entrance. A serene garden retreat with one bedroom and a modern open kitchen, living and dining area. A sofa bed and a queen air mattress are available too. There are several areas to relax on the patio and tropical gardens on two acres. The patio has extra seating and an outdoor BBQ/ dining area for guests. The pool is available with notification to the owners. Self-check-in available.

The space
This garden retreat is a self-contained home on the same property as our family house on two acres. It has a private entrance and a modern open floor plan. The house has wood floors with beautiful, large wooden French doors. The bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed and a down comforter. It also has a walk-in closet where the air mattress is housed. The modern bathroom area has a door that provides access to the pool and pool shower areas. There is a fully equipped kitchen for your use as well as a large dining table in the open floor plan with the living room. Listen to the songs of the wild birds or the birds in the large aviary adjacent to this house. Enjoy the reading selection from the library, the different areas for reading or relaxing, or play the piano. The décor is East Indian and African influenced. Right outside the big French doors you will be in the Patio overlooking the garden and the pool. This home is perfect for a couple looking to relax outside the city in a spa-like atmosphere. We do have a queen size air mattress for additional guests as the open floor living room area has plenty of room for extra guests. The sofa converts to a bed and houses additional bedding in the storage unit that is built into the sofa.
You have the luxury to enjoy your meals and relax either indoors or outdoors in the patio which also furnished with a BBQ, a dining area and several seating areas. Feel free to swim in the pool, play the piano, pick the produce from the organic vegetable garden or fruit trees for your consumption or simply relax and enjoy the setting in several seating areas available around the patio and garden on a two acre property.
We live in a family home on the same property as the guest house. We ask that our guests not invite additional visitors during their stay. There is usually someone at home in case you have any questions. We love hosting. We can be as available to you as you'd like or give you all the privacy you want.
This is a semi-rural neighborhood surrounded by farm land, vineyards and horse property. We have a huge aviary with four kinds of small birds. We have a loving labradoodle called Max.
We are situated between Elk Grove and Sacramento in a neighborhood called Vineyard. The neighborhood has a rural appeal but the stores and restaurants are just three miles away. Downtown Sacramento is about 25 minutes away and Elk Grove city center is about 15 minutes away. As you drive in, you will see vineyards, horses and other farm animals in the neighborhood. Wine and beer tasting venues are just minutes away!
There is plenty of safe parking around here but you will need your own transportation as there is no public transportation within walking distance.

The neighborhood is in a rural setting with large custom homes on two acres each. Yet it is only three miles from the shopping centers. Driving to the house, you will come across country homes, farms, horse properties, and vineyards We are between the cities of Elk Grove and Sacramento as the house is located on the border of the two cities. There is a fairly busy street by the house so cars can be heard during traffic hours. Besides the horse properties around, we have several vineyards in the neighborhood so the nearest wine-tasting place is within three minutes drive. There are several breweries in the area also.

I love meeting people and experiencing new cultures through traveling. My husband and I are of East Indian origin but we were both born in Africa. He grew up in Ethiopia and I, in Kenya. We love to travel and meet people. We are always hosting family and friends at home. I speak seven languages and he speaks six. I am a Director for Elementary Education for one of the largest school districts in Northern California, serving forty elementary schools. My husband works in IT for the State Department for Water Resources. We have two sons who are working in cities nearby so we are empty nesters but surrounded by loving friends and family. We are very easy going. My mother in law lives with us. She loves to cook and is very friendly. She too speaks seven languages. If she could have her way, she would invite people over to eat with us every day! We love the outdoors and often go four-wheeling, hiking, traveling, and creating outdoor projects ( he builds, I garden). We have an organic vegetable and fruit garden, we compost, and have several fruit trees. The huge bird aviary built by my husband brings sweet sounds of birds when we lounge in our beautiful backyard. We are very excited to host you at our lovely home.
