A super country cottage; cosy, comfortable and with an easy-on-the-eye contemporary style, located in the peaceful village of Helhoughton.

A typical Norfolk brick and flint character cottage, Peony Cottage had a complete makeover in 2019 and now enjoys a fresh, contemporary country look. Featuring tasteful Farrow & Ball colours throughout, a well-equipped kitchen, Karndean flooring in the dining kitchen and a super efficient Clearview wood burning stove adding extra warmth and an ambient glow, this comfortable and well-equipped rural retreat will help you to unwind away from the stresses of daily life. The entrance door opens to a lobby area which leads to a very pleasant dining kitchen, leading through to the sitting room. From the rear hallway steep-ish stairs (with handrail) lead to the first floor. Here you will find two bedrooms, a king-size and double, and a family bathroom. Outside, a small landscaped south facing cottage garden is a lovely place to sit and relax on a sunny day.

Located on a quiet village road, where roadside parking is easily found, this pretty cottage is ideal if you are looking for a relaxing rural break, and will suit a couple or two, as well as a small family. Helhoughton is a delightful village surrounded by beautiful countryside, just south west of the market town of Fakenham, and about twenty minutes from the coastal resort of Wells-next-the-Sea. It is a great base for exploring this beautiful area of North Norfolk, perfect for walking and cycling, as well as visiting local attractions - Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, Sculthorpe Hawk and Owl Trust, Houghton Hall, The Thursford Collection and Christmas Spectacular - and enjoying a day at nearby Fakenham Races! Although there is no pub in the village, there is a popular gastro pub at East Rudham which is a seven minute drive away. If you like to walk it's about 3.5 miles, and you can stroll back afterwards and feel rather virtuous!
