Nestled at the head of Loch Park, Loch End Cottage is a beautiful cottage in a breathtaking location.

It’s entirely off grid, allowing you to relax and unwind in a tranquil setting.

The cottage sleeps two, in a cosy king-sized bed, with direct access to a shower room. Downstairs, there is an open plan sitting, kitchen and dining room with log stove and views to the loch.

Dufftown is 3 miles, Keith is 8 miles and the village of Drummuir is 2.5 miles

The space
Loch End was fully renovated in 2021 and is ideal for a couple looking for a short break. It contains everything you need for a relaxing stay in the countryside. It has an open plan layout downstairs, with log burning stove, a kitchen with gas cooker, fridge and and range of pots, pans and crockery. The dining area looks has views of the Loch.
The kind sized bed is upstairs with access to a shower room.

Although it’s off-grid, the cottage has a battery power system and generator, providing electricity with a gas boiler for hot water and cooker. The water comes directly from the surrounding hills and is triple-filtered and delicious!

Loch End is accessed via a private and gated track with parking to the side of the cottage. In winter, you might prefer to leave your car at the top of the hill and walk down, we can easily arrange to help with luggage. Clean bedding and towels are provided.

Loch End Cottage is located in the heart of historic Banffshire, the home of Scottish Malt Whisky and with easy access to the beautiful beaches of the Moray Coast and to the remote Cairngorm Mountains.

Loch End is accessed from the public road and onto a private track. The Eastern end of the Loch is home to the Loch Park Activity Centre, where you can book fishing on the loch - there is an abundance of brown trout.

There are walking routes to explore from the front door of the cottage, around the Loch or to Dufftown on the Isla Way Footpath.

The local town of Dufftown has a fantastic range of activities available, from golf, walking the local hills such as the Convals or Ben Rinnes or the long-distance footpaths (Speyside Way) or visiting the many malt whisky distilleries. There is an excellent range of shops for all the essentials you might need during your stay, as well as a selection of cafes and restaurants.

Within easy reach there is the opportunity to visit the Moray Coast, taking boat trips to watch dolphins, visit the endless beaches or inland, the castles, such as the ruins of Auchindoun, family-owned Ballindalloch Castle or the Royal Family’s summer residence of Balmoral Castle.

Of course, you can sit and enjoy the local scenery and wildlife, keeping an eye on the ospreys as they fish in the loch by sitting in the bird hide and deer which browse the local hills. Or watch the volunteer-run Keith to Dufftown Railway as it chugs along past the cottage.

During your stay

We are always available to meet guests but respect the requirements for social distancing and are happy to provide a self-check in system, using an external key safe. Should you require anything during your stay, we live locally and can pop down and assist.

We are happy to advise activities within the local area, such as walking, hikes, bike routes, local restaurants and cafes and the many Distilleries. There is also a folder in the cottage with ideas.
