Hill Walking
We live on the Mahon Falls Road, an area of natural beauty with breathtaking views of the Comeragh Mountains. These mountains offer a variety of lakes, coums, rocky slopes and rivers. There are walks suited to both experienced hill walkers and novices, depending on your preference and ability. The walk to the Mahon Falls is an easy family walk of approx 20 mins each way. There are 9 lakes altogether to explore throughout the Comeragh Mountain range including Coumshingaun which is one of the finest examples of a corrie lake in Western Europe. The starting point to climb to Coumshingaun lake is a 10 min drive from our house.

Crough Wood Walk
This walk is approx 3km long and is a 2 min drive from our house. The walk is a real escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - a haven of peace and tranquility in all seasons with the Mahon River flowing alongside the woodland which is home to a variety of wildlife including the protected red squirrel. This area regularly attracts photographers, artists and nature enthusiasts. Suitable walk for families and picnic tables available.

Waterford Greenway
The Waterford Greenway is a 46 km off road cycling and walking trail along an old railway line which takes you from Waterford City all the way to Dungarvan. It is very popular with walkers and cyclists and is suitable for families. Bike hire is available locally. We live approx 6km from the Greenway.

Beaches
There are several sandy beaches along the Waterford coastline including Tramore, Bonmahon, Clonea and Ardmore all within 30 mins driving distance from us.

Dungarvan
Dungarvan is a harbour town with a wide variety of restaurants and pubs. Our nearest local pub is a 5 min drive away in Kilrossanty and coffee shop/petrol station/supermarket 10 mins away in Lemybrien.

County Waterford is steeped in history from Reginald's Tower in the city to the Copper Coast to Ardmore's Round Tower and much more, all within easy reach of our home.
