The space
The boathouse has a large deck on the end facing land and a smaller one that stands out over the water. The larger deck has a glass section that can be used to protect against wind and an awning in case of rain. There is also an outdoor furniture with 6 chairs plus extra chairs and, barrel-boy bags and next to the deck is a 60x120cm large charcoal grill. Inside the kitchen you can sit 7-8 people at the kitchen table. There is a fast 100 Mbit/s broadband, a large fridge and freezer, fully equipped kitchen (not dishwasher), including microwave, coffee maker and coffee pot. In the toilet there is also shower and sink but there is no washing machine. You can rent it at Norrfällsvikens camping on the other side of the bay.
7 people can be booked but if the 120cm bed and 140cm sofa bed are divided by 2, 9 can fit. Upstairs there are three bedrooms with: Bedroom 1 - the master room has a 180cm double bed (2x90cm + 180cm bed mattress) as well as a 140cm sofa bed; Bedroom 2 with 160cm bed; Bedroom 3 with 120cm bed. In addition, there is a tent bed by the stairs. The stairs are relatively steep. Duvets (all 90 cm) and pillows are available but bed linens and towels please bring along. It is possible to close a hatch upstairs for the stairs at night if you have small children but it is not suitable for children or people with disabilities due to stairs as well as drowning risk.

Eng: The boathouse has a large deck on the gable facing the shore and a smaller one overhanging the water on the other side. The larger deck has a glass section that can be used to protect against any wind and an awning in case of rain. There is also an outside table with 6 chairs plus spare chairs, and fat-boy beanbags, and next to the deck is a 60x120cm large charcoal grill. Inside the kitchen you can also seat 7-8 people at the table. There is a fast 100 Mbit / s broadband, a large fridge and freezer, fully equipped kitchen (not dishwasher), including microwave, coffee maker and coffee pan. The toilet also has a shower and sink but there is no washing machine. You can, on the other hand, rent one at Norrfällsviken's campsite on the other side of the bay.
It is possible to book for up to 7 people but you may fit 9 people if 2 people share the 140 cm sofa bed and the 120 cm bed. On the top floor are three bedrooms with: The Master Bedroom with a 180 cm double bed (2x90 cm bedframe + a 180 cm mattress topper) plus a 140 cm sofa bed; Room 2 with a 160 cm bed; Room 3 with a 120 cm bed. In addition, there is a foldable camping bed at the top of the stairs on the landing. The stairs are relatively steep. Blankets (all 90 cm) and pillows are available, but bed linen and towels must be brough although we can organise sheets & towels in exceptional circumstances (e.g. flights from abroad).
You can close a door for the stairs upstairs on the landing for the night if you have small children but it is not an optimised accommodation for small children or disabled due to stairs as well as the danger of falling in the water.

Where you’ll be

Kramfors Ö, Västernorrlands län, Sweden

The High Coast is a beautiful area where the ice sheet was thickest and the land elevation today is fastest, with 8mm per year, or 80 cm in 100 years. You can really see this in nature and on top of Skuleberget you can see the world's highest coastline at close to 300 m altitude – there is also the Castle valley crevice and the climbing center Via Ferrata point see. In Norrfällsviken dating back to the 17th century there are also several large open pebble fields from the last ice age, a few restaurants, a golf course, a large sandy beach called Storsand, hiking trails, rocks and bathing etc. In the area are many other fishing villages, beautifully located lighthouse Högbonden with café activities, soft flat rocks by the sea on the Rotsidan where you can spend a day with sun and swimming, Farm shop in Zealand, Mannaminne with outdoor museum & events etc. Norrfällsviken belongs to the village Mjällom where it is about 5 km and there is a small grocery store and representative for the system company, a museum called Kulturfabriken which tells about the entrepreneurial spirit that Mjällom stood for with shoe factory industry and the famous Mjälloms Tunnbröd. Outside Norrfällsviken is Ulvön, which is associated with Surströmming and where you can get with the tour boat Kusttrafik (hkship point see) from Mjällomslandet, about 8 km from Norrfällsviken. There may also be boat transport directly from Norrfällsviken Marina.

Eng: The High Coast is a beautiful area where the ice was at its thickest during the last ice age and the land rises at its fastest phase, with 8mm per year, or 80 cm in 100 years. This is really noted in nature and the world’s highest shoreline can be vied on top of the Skule Mountain at nearly 300 m – in that area there is also the Slottdals Crevice and the Via Ferrata dot se rock climbing centre. In Norrfällsviken which dates back to the 17th century, there are plenty of visible shingle beaches by the sea, restaurants, a golf course, a large sandy beach called Storsand, hiking trails, cliffs and swimming, etc. Within the area you will find many fishing villages, a beautiful lighthouse called Högbonden with café facilities, smooth and flat rocks at Rotsidan where you can spend a day swimming and sunbathing, the farm shop Gårdsbutiken in Själand, Mannaminne outdoor Museum & activities to name a few. Norrfällsviken belongs to the town of Mjällom where it is about 5 km and there is a small grocery store and a pre-order pick up point for the state controlled off-licence/liquor store “systembolaget”, a museum called Kulturfabriken, which tells about the entrepreneurial spirit that Mjällom was renowned for with the shoe factory industry as well as country-renowned Mjälloms Tunnbröd which today lies at E4 some 20 km from Mjällom. Outside Norrfällsviken lies the island Ulvön, which is associated with Surströmming, a fermented and particularly smelly delicacy, to where you can take the boat Kusttrafik (hkship dot se) from Mjällomslandet, about 8 km from Norrfällsviken by car. There may also be boat transport directly from Norrfällsviken when you are there. Remember, in Sweden we enjoy the “Right of public access” meaning that you are free to roam, camp and be in the nature as long as you respect the wildlife, plants and so on with the motto “Do not disturb, do not destroy”.
