Period style cabin set into the mountain above the historic township of Walhalla, close to the Goldfields Railway, Long Tunnel Extended Goldmine, snow fields, hiking, motorcycle & mountain bike trails, 5kms from the Thomson river kayak & canoe trail. Our mountain hideaway is a short distance from the sleepy mountainside township of Walhalla, steeped in the history of Victoria's gold rush era. Take a relaxing stroll through the lovingly restored centre full of heritage buildings of a bygone era.

The space
The feature of Happy Go Lucky Hideout is that it is a completely "off the grid," eco friendly house, utilising solar, lpg and tank water, so no air con, no TV, no hairdryers, no microwave - this is your chance to switch off and get back to basics! Enjoy the peacefulness of the surrounding bush - you may even see a lyrebird or a wallaby. We have a wood heater, lpg heater (complete with carbon monoxide alarm), gas stove top and fridge, gas hooded bbq, gas hot water and solar lights. There is enough solar power to charge your phones and laptops if you don't want to switch off completely. Our house is private and secluded in the mountains above the township of Walhalla, just a short walk away from the historic town centre.
