Recently converted dog-friendly holiday home. Part of a former school house built in the 1850s, now a stunning two storey holiday let. Set within the historic town walls of Berwick-upon-Tweed, with views over the river estuary. Ideally located for the town centre, mainline train station and for exploring the Borders & Northumberland. With 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms it accommodates up to 6 guests + 2 dogs. The property benefits from private front & rear entrance with off street parking for 2 cars.

Berwick-upon-Tweed is the northern most town in England and is steeped in history. St Aidan's House backs onto Berwick’s Elizabethan Walls. These are the only example of bastioned town walls in Britain. Built in 1558, they were designed to keep out the marauding Scots who regularly laid claim to the town! St Aidan's House itself was built in 1859 as a school. It was more recently used as a boarding house for children from Holy Island to stay while they attended school on the mainland. Its recent conversion makes it the ideal base from which to explore the Borders and beyond. A walk along nearby Bridge Street with boutique shops and eateries is a personal highlight.

My husband is originally from Berwick-upon-Tweed so it is a place close to our hearts. We have lots of family still in the area and love to visit with our 3 children and 2 dogs. I hope you will enjoy exploring this beautiful part of the world as much as we do!
