New!! Lake life at its absolute best! This 1960s A-frame cabin is a true delight. The cozy design allows for unobstructed views of the lake, 16 ft ceilings and is just mere steps from the pristine waters of Big Cormorant! We absolutely love this cabin and have poured our hearts into it with a complete overhaul in 2020/21. The cabin can sleep 5. The space
You can't get any closer to the water! Propane fireplace, heated floors and a brand new fully equipped kitchen make it easy for our guests to come and enjoy quality time with family and friends. The grill is always ready to be fired up and the firepit set for smores or a drink and conversation around the fire. Big Cormorant has a sandy/ hard bottom and the dock is available for guest use. Bring your boat! The public launch is only 2 minutes down the road. The 1 bedroom has a luxurious queen sized bed and three additional single beds are available in the open loft above… which arguably the offers the best views in the house. The flat backyard is perfect for yard games, available in the garage and if it's time to work or for a movie after a day in the sun, wifi is available.

The boho chic vibe is funky fun and says ‘come in, be present and relax!’ Come experience “A” fun get-away and make some memories! We truly hope this becomes your special place to come back to.

For larger groups or multiple families, an additional 2 bedrooms (both with queen beds), small common living area with pull out couch and 1 full bathroom is available on the property above the garage. Please look up our second listing “A Cozy Cabin Grand Escape…” for more details. Pets will be welcomed on a case by case basis for an additional non-refundable $100 per stay. *Note- the driveway is steep and narrow (15ft) along the garage. During the winter months bring your 4 wheel drive vehicles (w/good tread) or park at the top of the hill as the driveway can be slick and difficult to get back up. Best to leave trailers at the top of the hill or at the public access. You know your vehicle’s capabilities best in MN winter- use good judgement. We have the driveway/ parking area professionally cleared with each heavy snowfall.

The neighborhood is a mix of year round (this applies to the neighbors on each side of us) and seasonal homes. From the house you'll see people enjoying the lake-- water sports, fishing, ice skating and snowmobiling. Please keep the noise level reasonable and be respectful of the neighbors.

I’m a world traveler with Minnesota roots! So far I’ve been to over 20 countries including Thailand, Australia, South Korea, Brazil, Portugal, Ireland, lived in Greece.... and the list goes on but there is still so many places left to explore!! We welcome you to our home and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!! But first, here’s a bit more about us...

I grew up just outside of Moorhead, Minnesota and graduated from the University of North Dakota. That’s where I met my husband, Adam and we decided to start a life together full of adventure. Right out of college, we lived and worked in CA for 4 years. Adam, as a Mechanical Engineering manager at Northrop Grumman and myself as a Global Account Executive at Pearson Education. A promotion moved us across the country to Maryland, where we lived and worked for 6 years. I went into residential real estate halfway through our Maryland stay and have never looked back. It was about that time we decided we wanted to eventually return to the Midwest, raise our family and live on the lake. Adam took a job in Detroit Lakes as the Director of Engineering and I continue to grow my Maryland real estate business, traveling back and forth in addition to my MN and ND RE business. We purchased our lake lot in 2015 and began construction in 2017. It was a rough road, with a lot of sweat and tears but we’re so proud and happy of the road we’ve traveled and our home we get to share. We love life at the lake and are so thankful we get to share it and welcome friends both old and new!!
