You can get all the basic needs from the neighborhood shops nearby. And also very easy to go anywhere in the city. The public transport station is 1 min away and you could always find a taxi within 2 mins walking range if needed.
If you walk Southward for 7 minutes from the house you would get to see the Legendary Buddhist Stupa, Boudhanath. Here, you would see not only visitors but the local Buddhist people of all walks of life doing 'Kora', walking around the Holy stupa in circular motion reciting mantras in their heart, counting on the Mala beads between their gentle fingers. Especially the older generations and the tribal people from the Himalaya regions in their traditional dress will leave an ever unforgettable impression on you.
