Where you’ll be

Phuthaditjhaba, Free State, South Africa

We live in a traditional rural village which most tourists find super interesting to be a part of. It's a unique blend of traditional and modern, you won't be short of anything here but you'll leave with an experience like no hotel can provide.

There are good grocery shops and a few fast food restaurants which have all the basics and some luxuries, but if you have special requirements (organic/ vegan/ high end coffee) we suggest getting those from a city before arriving.

There are no bars or mid-high end restaurants in our area, but Clarens is close enough to take an afternoon out to experience that.

We're often involved in community projects and can sometimes offer guests access to unique cultural events happening (depending on your luck and timing of your stay ). For the most part, the people who get the most out of their trip to us take a few days to explore the surrounding nature and culture.

I love adventure and have a passion for meeting new people from around the world. I love where I live and really enjoy showing off and sharing the beautiful surroundings that we are blessed with. AirBnb offers me the opportunity to express our hospitality and make our guests feel as welcome as possible. When I'm not working or on an adventure, you can find me in the garden with a good book and a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

During your stay

We're very happy to socialize with guests and help them find their way in our area. We're both passionate about the surrounding attractions and are working on ecotourism ventures and community development. We love to cook and eat together, have a braai outside, or arrange a daytrip with guests. That said, we work from home and are not available 24/7; we're also happy to give guests space.
