The space
This private room is in an expanded/ refurbished sandstone farm house (built in the late 19th century) on a working farm in the Eastern Free State. We like to say it is "at the corner of Free State and KwaZuluNatal" as one of the property lines is the KZN provincial border! Because of our remote location, room price includes 3 home-style cooked meals per day.

Where you’ll be

Memel, Free State, South Africa

Our farm is located in the eastern Free State at the border of KwaZuluNatal on the continental divide in the Drakensburg Mountains. Our altitude is approximately 1850 m/ 6000 ft. We share our neighborhood with innumerable birds, flowers, trees and other wildlife (mostly nocturnal), cattle, sheep, friendly farmers, their employees and other local residents.
