Sweet Donside little bespoke shabby chic cabins are a magical escape where you can wake up and say hello to our free roaming ducks & hens, it really is wonderful experience to stay in . The cabin has a walk in shower room and kitchen area with microwave, min fridge, kettle & ninja oven. Tv with Netfix. There is a decking area out side the cabin with the love tub waiting for you to enjoy a romantic dip, the tub is exclusive to the cabin and fenced off. Your pet must be kept on a short lead.

The space
The Wee Beehive is the second of 7 Cabins we are building, please take note there is some building activity during the day next to the cabin this should not disturb you to much. This cabin is truly special and a lot of love has went in to building it there is a full size bathroom with walk in shower and central heating and WiFi, Smart Tv with Netflix, a king size bed, along with a kettle, ninja oven, toaster, mini fridge & microwave. lots of books and games and a blue tooth speaker there is parking a few yards from the cabin. We have a fully functional kitchen area out with the cabin only a few yards away you can cook and eat your meals in along with a decking area with table and chairs you can sit out side in the summer time this area is shared with The Wee Love Nest Cabin- Due to COVID 19 we have put in time slots for guest to use so you can keep a safe distance. We have put mini fridges in the cabin as we have removed the shared fridge in the kitchen are due to Covid.

One well behaved pet allowed in this cabin but must be kept on a short lead out with the cabin at all times and not left on its own at any time.
We have free roaming hens & Ducks so we ask you respect their safety.

Fresh Bedding, towels, dressing gowns laundered.

Your pet must not be left on its own in the cabin.

Please note before you book we are in a remote part of the Cairngorms so if you want a take away or to eat out it’s a 15 to 30 min drive. The kildrummy inn is a 15min drive they may do take away but you need to call ahead depending on how busy they are and if they are open. There are lots of take away and restaurants in Aboyne, Alford, Ballater, all with in a 30 min drive. Our local pub is only open fri to sun and has a very small menu and now doing takeaway pizza at the weekend.
We do not have a local taxi service but you can get a taxi to and from Ballater round about £60. You can not get a taxi to kildrummy Inn.

We are set in the Cairngorms National Park next to the village Bellabeg, which holds the famous Lonach Highland gathering and games that attracts over 7000 people a year, and a stone throw away from the river Don. We are across the road from the famous three hundred year old Jacobite Poldullie bridge built in 1715 the new Mary Queen of Scots has just filmed on the bridge, we had 172 extras and the props crew at our property. Just 8 miles up the road is the Lecht Ski resort with stunning views. The Wee Beehive is the ideal location for a romantic getaway, switching off from the day to day stresses, sightseeing, walking , skiing, exploring and birdwatching or just to chill out and relax. ( This is not a pod it’s much more) If you are celebrating a special occasion please let us know, we can attempt to accommodate all requests. ❤️ we now have an honesty shop in the wee snug this is located back of the out side kitchen please enter by side door .we are pet friendly but we expect you to respect our property by keeping your pet off the bed and furniture and cleaning muddy paws, please do not use our towels to clean your pet if you let us know you do not have your own pet towels we will be happy to provide some at no extra cost. One well behaved pet very welcome in the cabin. 🐾🐾. Please note check in is from 4pm and check out is no later than 10am to allow deep cleaning.

What can I say, we are in the Cairngorms, surrounded by beauty and knee deep in history. whisky trails galore, Pictish stones, wildlife and outdoor sports.

Strathdon is a friendly area with lots to see and explore.

We have a cracking local shop and Post Office that is very well stocked, opening hours are 8am - 4pm Monday to Saturday and 9am -2pm Sunday.

The Steading Bar with small food menu is only 1.4 mile away, opening days may change during winter months so please check on their FB page.

Goodbrand & Ross tea room is a 10min drive away and is doing a take away service just now again please check their FB as this could change.

Kildrummy Inn is a 15min drive and is award winning with a set menu and a must visit, you need to phone to book in advance no walk in. Again please see their FB page.

Myself and husband decided to move to this stunning area to start up holiday accommodation, we wanted to create something that was a bit quirky, cozy and romantic, we started with Sweetheart Cottage which has been a success and have now built our first Cabin The Wee love Nest this is the first of 7 going up, our aim is for you to relax and enjoy you’re stay taking away with you wonderful memories.
