Located btw Cooma & Dalgety & only 45 mins to Jindabyne, Snowdrift Cottage is ideally situated as both a Summer & Winter retreat. The cottage is set in the grounds of historic Springwell & enjoys rural views over The Brothers. The cottage is open plan with electric & wood heater. TV, DVD, BBQ, library of books, games & movies. Outside there are large gardens to explore with abundant wildlife. Basic pantry items provided. Sealed road access. Ideal for singles, couples & small families.

The space
The property is surrounded by working sheep & cattle farms & is home to several horses. The cottage is set away from the main homestead yet close enough to enjoy the surrounding grounds. The owners reside on site & are available at most times should you require any assistance. The kitchen & laundry are fully equipped & basic cleaning products are provided. There is an adjacent garage available for wet snow gear or storage of sporting equipment. Fire wood is supplied for the first night & there is usually an abundance of kindling or pine cones on site. Longer stays will need to purchase additional hardwood supplies in town. Larger supplies can be pre ordered, delivered & stacked outside the cottage at cost. LGBTIQ Friendly. Whilst not advertised as pet friendly we will make some exceptions to this rule by application & prior approval only. (Please note that the cottage is not securely fenced & an additional fee will apply if pets are approved) Strictly No Smoking in cottage. Additional guests exceeding 2 must be declared. Strictly 5 guest maximum. Exceeding numbers may result in you being asked to vacate. The cottage is not suited to group bookings.

Peaceful & quiet rural setting, yet only 10 minutes to town. Located just over an hours drive to the snowfields of Thredbo & Perisher with plenty to see & do on the way. Explore in any direction. Just over an hour from Canberra & only 2 hours from the coast. Snowdrift Cottage is an ideal base for skiing, mountain/road biking, hiking, trout fishing, kayaking or simply a place to relax, unwind & spend some quiet time. Equally suited to the romantic getaway or family holiday and perfect as an artists/writers retreat. The cottage is cosy & warm in winter & enjoys magnificent Monaro views year round with the occasional snowfall transforming the gardens into a magical winter wonderland.

My family & I moved to the Monaro from the Mornington Peninsula at the start of 2019. I’ve recently retired from Vic Pol after 30 years service, predominantly as a major crime Detective. I now run the property at Springwell & manage Snowdrift Cottage. We have a couple of horses & will often be out competing on weekends or away at events, but will always be contactable if needed. I’m a fanatical surfer & try to get across to the coast as often as I can & will always be happy to share a few secret spots.
