Our home is in Koronos! The National Geographic Tourist Guide for the Cyclades describes Korono as one of the most impressive villages in mountainous Naxos, with its paved alleys, arches and roofs, the whitewashed stairs that connect the upper and lower neighborhoods, Cycladic small houses with their old doors painted in bright colors, the church of Agia Marina, the small square with a balcony, old cafes and taverns. It has been characterized since 1988 as a traditional settlement. It is a village with natural coolness even in the hottest months of the year. At a distance of about 8 kilometers, you will find the pebbly beach of Lyon, with crystal clear waters and picturesque fish taverns. Particularly worth a visit is the monastery of Panagia Argokiliotissa, just 4 kilometers away, from which the view to the east includes the Cyclades, Dodecanese islands and Ikaria when the atmosphere is clear.
