The authentic cottage house is located 10 minutes drive from the magical Mikri Prespa Lake as well as the Pisoderi ski resort. The soothing, relaxing view from each point inside and outside of the house into the hills, mountains and forest opens up in front of you. An independent, open space, fully equipped home for friends and family to enjoy a comfortable, relaxing and warm atmosphere.

The space
Warm colors welcome you into the high wooden ceiling main space on the ground floor with living and dining room, kitchen, working space, open fire place, wooden stove to cook and heat, one double room and a mansard for 2 to 4 with a breathtaking view. The house combines traditional architecture of wood and stone with the moderns need of big, open spaces. Central heating on all of the 3 levels of the house. The surroundings will make you feel a part of nature and the independent home with no other nearby buildings helps you feel part of nature and free from everyday noise and speed.

The home is located right in the middle of many fantastic places of the wider region. The Prespa Lakes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Prespa) is a natural park of great significance due to its biodiversity and endemic species. Prespa is a transboundary park shared between Greece, Albania and North Macedonia. It only takes a few moments for the receptive visitor to see that they have arrived at a place with its own unique personality. Prespa is for those who love nature and outdoor activities all year round. This is a place to be appreciated with all the senses, as if it had been designed to draw us in, and remind us that we, too, are a part of nature.

The Pisoderi/Vigla ski resort (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pisoderi) is for skiing and snowboarding, there are 11.1 km of slopes available. 5 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,650 and 2,000 m. The Vigla's chalet and restaurant host their guests in a spacious environment and provide all necessary equipment and support.

30 minutes to go to the city of Florina (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florina) and 30 minutes to the city of Kastoria (http://www.visitgreece.gr/en/main_cities/kastoria) with a stop at the deserted villages of Gavros and Ano Kraniona (http://www.greece.com/destinations/Macedonia/Kastoria/Settlement/Ano_Kranionas.html).

Take a daytrip to the village of Nymfaio (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nymfaio) with the traditional local architecture, the Arcturos bear santuary (https://www.arcturos.gr/en/), which you can reach in 90 minutes as well as Lechovo with its recently inaugurated Paths of Peace (https://www.pathsofgreece.gr/en/portfolio-items/paths-of-peace/). A visit to Nestorio and hiking on the Grammos hill (https://www.hostel-alexandros.gr/mountain-forest-walks-climbing/?lang=en) is also an hour away.

I am originally from Vienna, Austria but I am living in Greece for the last 30 years. I spent 7 years in Athens, 3 years in Thessaloniki, 15 in Prespa and the last years I am mostly in Thessaloniki.
In 1997 I visited Prespa for the first time and I was fascinated by the beauty of the region, the quiet, colorful landscape and the feeling of being allowed to be still for a moment or longer.
In 1998 I moved there, built the house in 1999 and in 2000 I established an NGO together with a group of people living here. Until 2014 the organisation organized a lot of youth, cultural and educational activities and was involved as well in tourism and cross-border programs.
After 2014 I worked for the establishment of cooperation between Greek and German local authorities and knowhow transfer between them.
I miss the everyday life of Prespa. Where you easily forget which day of the week it is and where the contact with nature is still pure.
