The space
Forest:-
The lush forests and verdure surrounding the sanctuary is an extremely integral part of the entire stay experience. Let us give you an insight about the diverse and beautiful nature that’ll surround you during your stay.
Native trees:-
Padam, Rohdodendron, Thishiaru, Oak, Kafal, Dudila, Utis, Osmanthis
Shrubs:-
Hishiyal berries- This shrub gives you orange berries that are edible and extremely delicious
Bitchubuti – This shrub is known to cause intense rash when touched but is actually an extremely delicious vegetable when cooked
Wild strawberry- Contrary to popular beliefs, they are actually edible and give a sweet and sour taste
Tinmora – This is another form of delicious berries
Ghingaru- These shrubs are used to make walking sticks and its seeds can be eaten
Grasses:-
Kusha- This variety is widely used in worshipping and poojas all over India
Tarud- It is a vegetable that is great for your joints and is eaten after Shivratri every year
Gethi- This vegetable is fed to people who have suffered from long term illness to regain body strength
Flora and Fauna:-
You will also be able to experience diverse flora and fauna around. Pull your socks up as you will spot a variety of birds, leopard, porcupine, wild bear, barking deer, forest mushrooms and moose to name a few.
Conservatory: Machaan has been built around upper portion of the chestnut tree and the trunk goes down all the way to the gorgeous sunrise cottage with a fireplace right outside it and also a library and kitchen.
Deck: Sitting on the deck gives you a beautiful view as it overlooks the valley, dining space and the old fire place.
