Minutes from the coast, with direct access on to the New Forest, Mallards Cottage is a charming one bedroom detached cob cottage set in the large garden of our family home: An ideal place to escape and relax, it is a safe distance from the rest of the property and deep cleaned thoroughly between guests, in line with health and safety advice from the Government.

Full of charm, it has a private patio area with views over the garden and countryside behind.

The space
Mallards Cottage offers a large double bedroom, an open plan sitting room with kitchenette and a newly fitted bathroom with a shower which is quite small. It is full of character with thick cob walls and thatched roof and the private patio area to the rear offers beautiful views across the paddocks where our horses graze, to open farmland beyond.
At Mallards we provide guests with a healthy breakfast in the cottage to help themselves to and prepare at their leisure. It includes a choice of cereals, fresh juice, bread, local eggs and bacon as well as coffee and a choice of teas. The double bedroom has a comfortable super-king sized bed (that can be made up as two single beds) and the kitchenette has a microwave oven, fridge and hob (oven not in use due to planning restrictions), and is well equipped with crockery, china and basic kitchen essentials.

There are two pubs close to Mallards: The Turfcutters is within walking distance and has a large beer garden and good choice of pub food. The East End Arms, a five minute drive away, is more of a gastro pub and offers an excellent menu. Booking is advised during the summer months for both.

Lymington is 10 minutes away with a pretty high street offering a lovely range of shops and a bustling market every Saturday morning. Walking along the coast path from Lymington to Keyhaven, overlooking the Solent, is a haven for bird watchers and a regular ferry crossing to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight offers another great day out. The historic village of Beaulieu is just up the road, with its famous Motor Car Museum, and Buckler's Hard is also well worth a visit.

Toby and Dominique have lived at Mallards with their three children (now grown up), horses, dogs and cats, for many years and can offer advice on all the New Forest has to offer; Walking, horse riding, cycling, visiting local beaches and the Isle of Wight, as well as many local cultural attractions and the excellent selection of local pubs and restaurants in the area. We are happy to advise as much, or as little as needed.

There is a secure key safe by the door to Mallards for guests to let themselves in if we are not available to welcome them on arrival.
