Come experience off-grid living on a permaculture farm in the mountains of Dominica. Enjoy home cooked meals, spectacular ocean views, spring fed pools, relaxed community vibe. House with 2x2-person bunks, 1 double, couch bed, kitchen, & nearby buildings available to guests. Walking distance to awe-inspiring waterfalls. Middleham Falls, Waitukubuli trail are short hikes away. Participate in garden or construction projects. Get a glimpse of a different way of life.

The space
Rental of main house. Multiple houses on property are all part of a hostel, which operates on 3 acres surrounded by jungle on all sides. The facilities here were designed with communal living in mind, and farm staff live on-site. Two shared kitchens, two lounge areas and a deck overlooking the ocean are available to all guests.

Where you’ll be

The hostel is positioned in the mountains above the village of Cochrane (about 1 kilometer). Cochrane is a quiet, yet friendly farming town with minimal grocery store and a small bar. Very safe area. Crime is virtually nonexistent.

The property itself has no neighbors within earshot. Jungle on all sides. Only a few farmers pass occasionally. The sounds of tree frogs, birds and falling water create a very peaceful ambience.

We stay out of the house, in a nearby building. If you choose, we will mingle during meals or when we're not working, and happy to engage guests in garden activities or educational experiences. Otherwise we give guests their space.
