A place for people who love to swim, boat, fish, kayak, canoe, paddle board, pick blueberries, explore, enjoy birds and wildlife or just dream. This is a very private cottage on an acre plus of pine forest. An outbuilding houses a second bathroom and laundry room. There is a screened gazebo for an outdoor meal without insects or a good place just to nap. Two new docks can accommodate multiple boats.

The space
The water comes from the lake with some purification. We use it for bathing and laundry. For cooking or drinking bottled water is recommended. It can be purchased for $10.00 at the Foodland in Noelville about 20 kilometers south on Hwy. 64.

We respect quiet and wildlife. For that reason we do not use pesticides or poisons. Mousetraps are under the kitchen sink.

Mashkinonge Provincial Park, about 5 kilometers north on Hwy. 64 provides hiking trails and biodiverse scenery. There is an art gallery in nearby Noelville and yoga classes. A golf course is located on Hwy 64 South, about 10 kilometers from the cottage.
Rainy Days?Travel to Sudbury for shopping or to visit the famous nickel mines or the science center. In the other direction, Sturgeon Falls has ample shopping and two Tim Hortons. North Bay, at the other end of Lake Nipissing features many sight- seeing opportunities and upscale restaurants.

I am a third-generation Lake Nipissing denizen. My grandmother, Lillian Rice Cameron, arrived on its shores in 1919 and built a fishing resort called Samoset Lodge. She sold that in the late 40s, but couldn't get out of the tourist bug and created a second fishing resort, Lakair Lodge. Her son, Wally, and his wife, Hazel, ran the lodge until 1992. They were my parents, and they built this cottage. Their son, Kevin, ran Lakair until 2014. So, you might say that while I may not have mosquitoes in my blood, they certainly have head enough of my blood over the past years. I grew up on the lake and learned to love all of the beautiful things that life has to offer. Although I live in Gettysburg, PA, these days, getting up to the cottage for a few weeks is always a highlight of my year. I hope you enjoy it and care for it as much as I do. Welcome.
