Hacienda Chan Chan is a working dairy farm nestled in the mountains high above Cuenca. The TreeHouse is even higher up, possibly the world's highest (elevation) tree house. It is remote and secluded. The ideal get away for adventurous hikers.

The farm offers beautiful views, fresh food including homemade cheeses, yogurt, and cured meats (seasonal), hiking, and an up-close look at daily farm-life. We are close enough to explore Cuenca (35 mins), but far enough away to escape it all.

The space
Want to sleep among the trees on the side of the mountain at an elevation of over 10,000 feet and willing to hike 10-20 minutes to get there (including a final stretch of 100 steps)? If so, the TreeHouse may be for you. It offers sweeping views of the valley and Cuenca off in the distance, great hiking, and seclusion, but not without the amenities of WiFi, 24 hr hot water, a small kitchen, and a wood stove to keep you warm at night.

The farm is located in the mountains roughly 30 mins from Cuenca and spans more than 90 hectares from the river Chan Chan at approx 2800 m to peaks above 3300 m. The closest town, Chiquintad, is about 10 mins drive/cab away where there are frequent buses to Cuenca.

We are a working dairy farm nestled in the Andes, just north of Cuenca, Ecuador.

During your stay

We live at the bottom of the farm. We are usually around, but can be busy with farming related activities. You are welcome to tour our part of the farm and stop in for a chat.
