Cozy and comfortable cabin in the mountains of Jølster, in the heart of Sunnfjord. Surrounded by mountain peaks, beautiful scenery and unique views of Jølstravatnet lake, this is the perfect base for exploring both the area's many trails and mountain peaks as well as the Western Region.
Bjørkelia Lodge is modernly furnished with a large portion of coziness and charm. Curl up in front of the fireplace with a good book, enjoy the view and sunset from the terrace, set the table inside or out to you and yours - enjoy the holiday life.

The space
Although the cabin is located on the mountain, it is easy to access by car. Parking is right at the front door, so you don't have to go far here. In the winter we recommend good tires or four wheel drive.
The cabin sleeps 8, but is just as good for couples looking for cozy and romantic hideaway as the toddler family of four.

The lodge has 2 floors.
On the ground floor you enter a tiled hallway with heating cables. Here there is plenty of space to hang out outside clothes and put ski shoes to dry. The hallway leads to two bedrooms, bathroom and laundry room.

Bedroom 2: bunk bed 120 cm mattress downstairs and 90 cm mattress upstairs
Bed linen and towels will be ready for you upon arrival.
The bathroom is bright and spacious with shower, toilet, sink with good smiles light and mini-sauna. You are free to use the washing machine.

On the second floor you will come up in a cozy and open living room and kitchen solution. On the large sofa, you can sit back and enjoy the crackling in the wood stove or borrow the binoculars to see if you see an eagle or two. In the living room you can listen to your favorite music via bluetooth on the Marshall speaker, play board games, or read one of the books in the bookshelf.
At the round rustic dining table there is room for 6 people and the chairs are comfortable to sit in. If you need a high chair, it is available in two varieties - a Tripp staircase and one from Ikea.

The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to make a good meal. Stove, cooker, washing machine, refrigerator, microwave, mixer, smarts, waffle iron, kettle and coffee maker to name a thing. Basics like oil, salt, pepper, sugar, tea, and coffee filters can be found in the kitchen cabinet.

Bedroom 3 is also located on the second floor next to the living room. Bunk bed with 120 cm mattress downstairs and 90 cm mattress upstairs. Lighting with string lights create a good and cozy atmosphere that many of our smallest guests appreciate.

The outdoor area has several zones. At the entrance area a lounge-style seating area for two. On the large terrace with mountains as a background, the table can be set to the large family. Here there is also access to a barbecue for those who want. The sun conditions are very good, especially in the summer. From the porch you have panoramic views to the sunset and Jølstravatnet.

As the nearest neighbor you will find the Jølster Ski Center. Are you lucky to visit Bjørkelia Lodge in the winter, can we possibly sign with one of Norway's best ski in/ski out? It is only 8 meters from the front door to the ski lift. The Jølster Ski Center is dew based and many of our local heroes help that the slopes, lifts, kiosk, fire pit and alpine slope are a delight for anyone coming to visit. In the winter there are also good genres for spotting northern lights from the porch of the cabin.

In the neighborhood you will find cabins and many great mountain hiking/skiing, both easy for families and more challenging for the mountainous. The hiking trails are diligently used by locals. Feel free to wish you the ones you meet - Have a safe trip.
Nature is right outside your doorstep and it is not unusual for animals like hare, fox, grouse and eagles to look at hiking. If you're really lucky, you can meet the herd of reindeer at the top of Kvamsfjellet or inwards in the glacier landscape.
