Our home is situated in a quiet, secluded, peaceful, bush/volcanic rock area. We offer a bedroom with comfortable queen bed and private bathroom with shower, toilet, sink, bath and heated towel rail.
Also available is a two-bedroom annex with own lounge and private bathroom which is listed separately. You also have use of the heated pool and BBQ. There is parking for boat if required and our home has ample space for you to relax and unwind from your busy day or journey.

The space
Are you looking for somewhere special to stay, where you can relax and enjoy the peace? We offer a queen bedroom located on the ground floor of our two-storey home and a separate two bedroom annex on first floor which is listed separately. You will have your own private bathroom accessed via communal lounge. Bathroom has shower, toilet, sink, bath and heated towel rail. There is a relaxing communal lounge area which flows directly out onto the heated pool (summer only) and comfortable seating area to enjoy an evening wine. Ample private parking space and room for boat if required. The house is situated off a right of way gravel drive which has a gradual incline therefore, if bringing your boat this can only be accessed using a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Access for regular vehicles is good via the same drive. If you are participating in events or attending meetings at Barge Showgrounds Event Centre we are only a six minute drive away and the convention/ wedding centre is also located there. We are also only 15 minutes drive to the Town Basin Marina which is an international yachting community hub. Here you will also find the famous Hatea River Loop Walk with cafés/restaurants and shops along the way. Further afield, but still only 40 minute drive away, is Tutukaka Marina where it is possible to take a cruise over to the Poor Nights Island Marine Reserve, an internationally famous dive site. There are also many walks, kayak and cycling areas to enjoy. Welcome to Whangarei

After leaving the UK to live in NZ we often used Air B and B and made many friends during our stays.

During your stay

Pool and communal lounge is shared with owner and any other guests that may be in the two bedroom annex. One of us is normally around so available if required. We are sociable but respect the privacy of our guests.
