Our home is situated in a quiet, secluded, peaceful bush/volcanic rock area. We offer a two-bedroom annex with own lounge and private bathroom. Lounge has fridge, kettle and TV with Freeview and Netflix. There is a separate third bedroom downstairs with own private bathroom also available, listed separately. Use of heated pool (heated summer months only) and BBQ. There is parking for boat if required and our home has ample space for you to relax and unwind from your busy day or journey.

The space
Are you looking for somewhere special to stay, where you can relax and enjoy the peace? Our annex is located on the first floor of a separate wing to our two-storey home with a flight of stairs leading down to your private bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and heated towel rail. You have the entire wing to yourself as we only book one room per night unless family/friends (max 4 people) who are happy to share the bathroom wish to stay. There is also a separate third bedroom downstairs on ground level that also has own private bathroom reached via communal lounge area (listed separately). If no one is in our third bedroom there would be a separate private bathroom available for the annex if four people sharing. There is also a relaxing communal lounge area which flows directly out onto the heated pool (summer only) patio area with comfortable seating to enjoy an evening wine. Ample private parking space and room for boat if required. The house is situated off a right of way gravel drive which has a gradual incline therefore, if bringing your boat this can only be accessed using a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Access for regular vehicles is good via the same drive. If you are participating in events or attending meetings at Barge Showgrounds Event Centre we are only six minutes drive away and the convention/ wedding centre is also located there. We are also only 15 minutes drive to the Town Basin Marina which is an international yachting community hub. Here you will also find the famous Hatea River Loop Walk with cafés/restaurants and shops along the way. Further afield, but still only 40 minute drive away, is Tutukaka Marina where it is possible to take a cruise over to the famous Poor Nights Island Marine Reserve, an internationally famous dive site. There are also many walks, kayak and cycling areas to enjoy. Welcome to Whangarei

After leaving the UK to live in NZ we often used Air B and B and made many friends during our stays.

Pool is shared with owner and any other guests that may be staying. One of us is normally around so available if required. We are sociable but respect the privacy of our guests.
