Greenland wilderness experience north of Ilulissat.
Our cabin is located north of Ilulissat, a 4 hours hike or 25 min. boat shuttle (we can arrange) Enjoy the silence and see icebergs and whales passing by this amazing location. The cabin is simple, but has kitchen and 6 beds. You can fish, hike to nearby settlement, but best of all is to soak in the view and experience the peace at this location. There is no running water, but you get water by melting ice from the rocky beach.

Where you’ll be

Rodebay, Qaasuitsup Municipality, Greenland

The wilderness hut is a 4 hour hike from Ilulissat directly out to Disko Bay. Often there are stranded icebergs just in front of the cabin, where you can break ice off to drinking water. Only 1 1/2 hours hike north is the village of Oqaatsut, where despite only 30 inhabitants there are 2 small restaurants in the summer. Only a few minutes walk away is the wide bay, and at the bottom there is a lake where you can fish for Arctic char. In the small cove, you can also see old Inuit graves. The cabin is located so you can see the ice bank in Ilulissat, and you can catch a mobile signal from the cabin.
