Our charming boutique hotel was originally built in 1875. While extensive renovations have been done it has retained its old world charm. It is a delightful relaxing place for anglers and families to stay. Our rooms all provide a beautiful view overlooking the town itself, local rolling hills or beyond to the banks of the spectacular Oreti River which is only a short walk away. Secure bike storage is available for our cycling guests.

From our charming northern Southland location, you are able to easily access many spectacular locations including Fiordland National Park, local ski fields, Around the Mountain cycle trail and world class trout fishing.

Originally from Canada, we had been living for many years in Sydney, Australia. We discovered Lumsden on a Christmas vacation about 15 years ago and have been holidaying here ever since. More than a year ago, we decided to retire from our busy lives and relocate to this gorgeous place and are now lucky enough to call this beautiful town of Lumsden home.
