If you are a modest traveler who appreciates maximum privacy with lots of comfort and ready for an adventure to travel in space and time then you want to try this old, simple 550 square-foot home. It was built in the 50s, has very low ceilings, goofy wavy floors, and crooked everything. Nothing is shiny new, but it's cute and cozy and you'll feel like a little Royalty in your castle. Or just get a taste of how comfy the hobbits live, and may be you get to meet one in this Hobbit Home.

The space
Note: We did not get spared from the heavy storms this crazy October and two windows got broken and boarded up. Getting contractors is like a HIGHEST BIDDER WAR currently and we appreciate your kind understanding and patience as we get things fixed up again. The house is still comfy to live in though .

You won't find anything more unique in our college town than this lil' thing of home, that was may be originally designed for dwarfs (or hobbits)... You will enter into a good sized living room, that leads into an amazing spacious kitchen (compared to the total size of the home) and then takes you into the one bedroom of the house with the full bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can have breakfast at home or prepare your daily meals. The entire house is heated with a gas oven in the living room that looks like a fire place giving you a romantic feel. Extra heaters are provided in the bedroom. You have a full size bed to collect your nightly dreams and the sofa in the living room can be opened to a full size sleeper. Thus, up to four people can comfortably share the space. Look at the photos to see how you convert the sofa the sleeper sofa . Please take note that this is an old , dated home where nothing in the house is shiny new, everything is dated and well used, but it is clean and sanitary so that you may reside there with comfort. So if you expect top notch first class hotel service then you may not want to book this place . But if you are up to staying at a great hide-out with a touch of adventure which you won't find in any hotel and that at a very reasonable rate, then PLEASE BE OUR GUEST. You even have washer/dryer in the house.

Unfortunately, I am not allowing dogs anymore. I have tried, but I am exhausted from having to pay for the few who think that the host would have to be responsible for their dogs house manners (or lack thereof).

Where you’ll be

Norman, Oklahoma, United States

The house is located in an older part of Norman with most homes built in the 40's and 50s. One of the first Airbnb-er criticized the house was located in "not the best" part of town. However, it is my opinion that it actually IS a BETTER part of the city. Not only because it is so conveniently located close to everything like 15 min to OU campus, or old historic Downtown and all kinds of shopping and restaurants . But mainly because it is an original part of Norman where the first better incomers established their lives. It may well be correct that It is not the part of town where the richest of the rich live. But the home owners here are equally proud of their place. They keep their homes and the area well maintained within the limited means of their lower income. And THAT makes the area so special. You will meet down-to-earth and friendly Okie folks. Come with an open mind and you will enjoy your stay.

Welcome to one of our homes. I was born and raised in Germany and came to Oklahoma in 1991 for a "one year" exchange at the University of Oklahoma. A few years (oh well, decades) later I call it here my (Okla)Home(a). While I am a Chemical Engineer "by trade" I am now a "free lancer" in real estate. Besides other rental homes I have three homes that are rented to permanent roommates. Some roommates moved on, so starting in July 2017 I opened those rooms to be shared for Airbnb. All homes are pet-free except for my boyfriend's and mine. So If you dare to share a place with dogs (I have five German Shepherds) I invite you to to stay at my Dog Lovers Home in Moore. Our house rules are simple: Respect everyone's' privacy and leave the place the way you found it. We do not allow drugs or smoking in the house. . One more thing: Airbnb stands for AirMattress BnB, not A-Inn-Rated BnB. You are invited into our home that is shared with people (and sometimes pets) living there. Unlike as with hotels, we do not have cleaning crews and don't move everyone out so that guests can be welcomed into a spotless germ-free environment with view to the ocean or mountains. After discounting our fees/costs and spending a significant amount of time to provide you with an extremely budget friendly travel alternative we are left with less than $3-4/hr. I believe I speak here for all hosts if we ask our guest to please keep this in mind when rating your Airbnb experience. We hosts depend on good ratings and truly work hard for it. Thus, it is much appreciated that you consider the price to value ratio in your reviews and see if our service is worth less than 100% because there weren't things that even a hotel would not provide. With that said, I very much look forward to you Airbnb-ers and I hope to see you in one of my houses soon. Happy 2018!!
