Fig Cottage (Pet Friendly) has access to the whole pear farm and is on the banks of the largest dam in the Western Cape. Your stay also includes a private dam and picnic area to relax at. We are neighbours to Theewater Sports Club where one can sail, swim, fish and boat and close by are mountain biking/ 4x4 trails, botanical walks and restaurants. We are 2kms from Villiersdorp and a short drive accesses all surrounding towns.
Flexible check-in and out on request.

The space
The semi-detached cottages are well equipped with a cosy kitchen cum dining / lounge area that has a very comfortable day bed with under bed for extra guests (more suited to one person or two children). It is equipped with a fridge/ freezer, one plate induction stove, microwave, small convection oven and outside barbecue facilities with a complimentary stack of wood (should last three cooking sessions).

The bedroom is spacious and comfortable, with block out curtains to make sure you sleep well, and can wake up to heated towels in the en-suite bathroom with tub and shower.

Many attractions are close by, such as the only Smokehouse (tours and picnics available) in the valley, wine and beer tasting, an alpaca farm, golf club, sailing and boating, Franschhoek, Greyton, Hermanus are a short distance away, and much more...

We are near to the main road that feeds the town, so it can be a bit noisy during peak times when us farmers are busy ferrying staff and produce. End February through April is harvest time when it is busiest. Very quiet at night and on weekends when the frogs start singing.

If this may be an issue for you please check on a satellite image, bearing in mind that as of end 2020 the Theewaterskloof Dam is full :).

All round sports person with waterskiing my favourite, then mountain biking, sailing, horse riding and more.

Like to actively relax, and take it easy after sport or just lazing around, exploring the countryside or sampling wines/ beer from the various farms close by.

Very chilled and accommodating.
