Relaxing, quiet, private studio with a tall wood ceiling, skylights, WiFi, patio, dog friendly. Dark skies for watching the Milky Way.

The entrance is in a courtyard away from the road and shaded by trees. Next door is my sister's BnB, the Black Range Lodge, where you can reserve a hearty breakfast for $10.

Consider some therapeutic bodywork during your stay. My studio is steps away in the same courtyard.

Due to the Corona Virus I am diffusing essential oils for 2-3 days between guests.

The space
The Casita is unique for several reasons. Last spring we hosted 2 weddings. One couple got married and had their reception on Lodge property. The other couple married in my yard under the grape vine arch, and the reception was on Lodge property. Both couples spend their wedding night in my Casita. Why? It's romantic, quiet and private.

It's ideal for a couple, however, open the couch and you can sleep 2 more. In a pinch add the air mattress and sleep a 5th. Yes, flexible, but maybe too cozy for long stays.

Hillsboro, New Mexico, United States

Kingston, population 30, is a former silver mining (and maybe wild west) boom town founded in 1882. They say that 7,000 people once lived here, although most of the buildings were torn down and materials taken away to other towns. The Silver Crash nearly put an end to Kingston. A few original structures still exist including part of my house, the Percha Bank next to me, two floors of the Victorio hotel, and one of the Assay houses.

I’m semi-retired bodyworker stuck close to home caring for my 97 year old invalid mother.

As for Airbnb I’ve only stayed in one but I’m a super host with 50+ 5 star reviews.

During your stay

If I'm not available, head next door to my sister's BnB, the Black Range Lodge. Catherine or her partner Gary can help. I am part-time caregiver for my mom (age 96) so not always available. I do miss chatting with guests, but until the virus is dealt with, I'll be keeping my distance and wearing face coverings to protect you.
