Settle into this pristine farmhouse nestled within six acres of rolling, forested hills in the Driftless Region of southwest Wisconsin, complete with a babbling stream and trails perfect for a stroll. Start your day with a cup of coffee and the newspaper (WiFi is optional) on the front porch. After you've tuckered yourself out on a long walk or bike ride, trek back to the cottage for a pint from nearby Driftless Brewery. Build a warm fire indoors or out, or go for a sauna by the creek.

The farmhouse was featured in "Amazing Airbnb Cabins for the Perfect Midwest Getaway" by Time Out Magazine in January 2021. The house sits in a valley that was historically dairy land, and owned by only catholic women. The valley was referred to "The Valley of the Matriarchs" by people in the area. The creek was a Native American winter camp for hunting parties. The house was built in the early 1920's by Maggie and Delbert Steiner after they lived in a shack by the creek many years. There is a picture of the couple on the bedside table downstairs. The couple had 5 sons, and they were musicians. Locals say the house was frequently filled with area musicians who would come to jam out.
