In Värmland, 250 km west of Stockholm, you'll find this enchanting island with a unique log house built in the 19th century.

You get to the island by rowing boat (electric boat engine is available for rent), there is no road!

The house is simple, but in very relaxing surroundings.

The space
The house is very simple, no modern equipment.

Running cold lake water in the kitchen and to a sink on the back of the house (outdoors). There is warm water in a simple shower in the side house.

You fetch drinking water from a well, alternatively, bring your own.

Simple outhouse toilet.

Bring your own bedding and towels. There are blankets, coverings and pillows in the cottage.

Clean the house yourselves before you leave. There is cleaning equipment in the cottage.

There is a small freezer compartment in the fridge, no separate freezer.

Electricity is included in the price.

There are saucepans and other household utensils, and a coffee maker.

There is an outdoor grill (barbeque). Bring coal.

There is a fireplace in the house. Bring wood ( not included).

Fire detector and fire-extinguisher are in the house.

The cottage is about 60 square meter, plus attic.

It takes approximately 15 minutes to row from the boat place where you park your car, which means that you need to know how to row. Rowing boat is included (electric boat engine is available for rent).

The lake is about 3 km long with very few cottages, so the surroundings are very quiet.

Fishing is allowed. You can catch perch, roach, bream and pike. Bring your own fishing equipment.

The closest neighbour is about 100 metres away (on the main land).

I'm a retired university professor who enjoys nature, music, discussions, and dancing.

My children help me rent out my two cottages in Värmland, one unique island plus a smaller cottage on the main land (by the water).
