If you are on your way the Great Southern Flinders Ranges, make sure you wander in to The Wongabirrie. This refurbished 100 year old building offers luxurious eco friendly accommodation, nestled in the heart of the Mid North, South Australia. Greatly suited to couples, singles, business people and students for short or long term stays.

The space
This little old solid stone building has some major history. The building itself is over 100 years old and in it's past life was a service station, retail store and a bank just to name a few.

Our family decided to bring this beautiful space back to life. The poor old building had seen better days and required a fair bit of repair work to the external and internal walls as well as a new lick of paint. The internal walls have had some very particular detail made to them, where the existing render has been cut out the natural building stone pointed and exposed to reveal it's beauty.

Conveniently located, we are easy to find yet pleasantly private. Be one of the first to experience, a true diamond in the rough.

Where you’ll be

Wirrabara, South Australia, Australia

Wirrabara is a small country town nestled in the heart of the mid north and mid way to the great southern Flinders Ranges.

The locals are friendly by day and the town is peaceful by night.

Stroll the town. We then recommend you head to the Wirrabara forest and check out the Giant Tree. There is also a steel sculpture trail in town. It is directly across the road from the Wander Inn Wongabirrie and will take you approximately 5 minutes by walking. Head across the green bridge, over the rocky river and into the Wongabirrie Park lands; follow the signs.
