Carey’s Bar established in 1542 is an authentic Irish bar with roots, connection, having been nurtured for generations by the Carey family it looks and feels as it did hundreds of years ago.

Our quiet self catering wheel chair accessible apartment, has a comfortable, specious kitchen, large bedroom and ensuite walk in shower room.
Looking onto our farmyard which will give you a real country living experience and depending on the time of year is home to cows with new born calves, sheep and lambs. Safe for children to play and parking.
Our Authentic traditional Irish Pub situated just across the yard, with its slate tiled floor and its mismatch of chairs and cracked leather stools surround the wood burning stove. The warmth that embraces the patrons upon entry is undiminished by time, full of traditional characters with unique personalities creating the athmosphere, stories and laughter, it provides a place to relax and reflect.

Open 4 nights a week Mon. Wed. Fri. Sat. 8.30 p.m. no foods.
Ideal for tourist visiting Kilkenny, Glendalough or traveling to or from Dublin.

Where you’ll be

Quiet sleepy village, ideal for relaxing after touring. We have a quite traditional Irish Bar to enjoy a good pint of Guinness at night and meet the locals. The apartment is in a farm yard so if anybody is interested they are more than welcome to explore the farm and see some of the animals.
