Where you’ll be

Kilbrien, Waterford, Ireland

Away from the hustle and bustle of urban living close to nature we are lucky to live in this beautifully unspoiled scenic area where the air is sometimes positively effervescent! and the moon when full casts a soft glow on the Comeragh Mountains. There's a local shop (2km) which stocks a range of essential foods plus petrol newspapers coffee/tea scones/breads etc to go.
The surrounding area is ideal for a stroll, some serious mountain or coastal walks, golf, cycling, fishing and has some beautiful beaches for swimming or picnicing namely Clonea-Ardmore-Stradbally-Youghal and a bit further to Tramore, Dunmore East etc.
Throughout the year there are numerous festivals hosted in the towns -villages and greater area. Nearby town Lismore is host to the international Travel Writers festival in August and the harbour town of Dungarvan hosts a now world- famous food festival in April plus numerous traditional/jazz/folk music and cultural festivals throughout the year. More information on festivals etc is available in Tourist office or online. There is theatre, cinema, art center/ galleries, museum and library. Restaurants/cafes and pubs with music to suit every taste from Traditional Irish to Jazz and Country etc. Plus parks and public anenity areas for relaxing while watching tennis or lawnbowling.
Local Soccer,Hurling or Gaelic matches take place in the GAA field near the town.

The nearest urban area 15km is the very lovely harbour town of Dungarvan for shops-award winning restaurants, cafes, traditional pubs ,unique artison shops and boutiques plus supermarkets along with weekly farmers market in the square on Thursdays.
The Historic Viking city of Waterford is 30 minutes away. A bit further on is the Castellated City of Kilkenny. And in another direction is the bustling English Market ! In Cork City plus the serene seaside village of Cobh where the ill-fated Titanic set sale from. The village is now home to the Titanic Museum.
The drive along the Copper Coast is breathtaking and totally unspoiled by development. There's a cycling/walking track (developed on the original railway track) from Waterford to Dungarvan.

We are situated in a very quiet, peaceful rural area surrounded by open space yet within a short drive to numerous amenities.

I look forward to helping guests enjoy it as much as I do.b
