Get away from it all in our tastefully renovated cottage, in peaceful surroundings, views and wildlife. Ideal base for walkers, cyclists, or anyone exploring the area, or just wanting a quiet break. Guests have a private room with their own bathroom, and tea/coffee-making facilities, biscuits, and herbal teas.
A full cooked breakfast or continental-style included - see below. Please see "Other notes" re access.

The space
Guests have a good-sized room, with exposed stone features, and real oak floors, with private en-suite bathroom, with walk-in shower. There are twin beds, but these can be arranged as separate twin beds, or together to form a double.
Breakfast: either full cooked breakfast (vegetarian option available); or continental with cereals, home-made bread and home-made marmalade and jam.
We are in a very quiet situation, with views out to the Cambrian mountains, yet located about 1 mile from the A485 Aberystwyth to Tregaron road, and an easy drive to Aberystwyth, Lampeter, and the picturesque harbour town of Aberaeron. We are in the middle of red-kite country, with buzzards, kites and owls over our land, and a huge gathering of kites over the village, where they are fed daily.
As mentioned above, the area is ideal for walkers and cyclists - there are many footpaths and cycle routes either in our immediate area, or at a short distance; we are within reach of the Coastal Path, and Lon Cambria and Lon Teifi cycle routes. We have local O.S. and Explorer maps, and walking guides, which our guests are welcome to use to plan cycle rides or walks.
There is no light pollution, so on a clear night the stars are fantastically clear.

I am from West Wales (Swansea for working week & Ceredigion at weekends). My husband Andrei and I like to travel in Europe, and visit different regions, meet local people, browse the markets etc. I try to speak the language, at least a little, of the places we visit, and can speak french reasonably, with a little Italian, German, Spanish and Russian. I like theatre, reading, music, and exploring nature.
We have spent a lot of years doing up an old cottage and barn in the middle of the Welsh countryside, and now love to have guests in our home, and meeting different people, wherever they are from.
