Welcome to Estancia Selva Verde. We are located in the north of Nicaragua, the department of Nueva Segovia; Municipality of Mozonte, Los Arados county. This is an Indigenous community where the arts of pottery, farming animals and cultivating the land are a part of the daily life.
If you are looking for a vacation to meditate, enjoy nature, mountain biking, yoga, jogging, hiking, walking -- come and see us, you will get all the positive energy that only Nature can gives.

The space
We have available a cabin with a capacity of 4 guest with private bathroom. There are areas throughout the property where you can hang out to meditate, drink coffee, eat or anything you please. There are some excellent trails for jogging or biking. There are also some nice mystic spots with big stones along the river
We have a dog named Storm, she is kind and playful. We also have chickens and we might get some more animals as we grow; we are fairly new here. The construction was completed on 5/21/18.

The neighborhood is quiet. We have a Catholic Chapel next door, so once in a while you will hear chanting. People are very friendly, typical of Nicaraguans. You will see in the trails and in the farms and houses a variety of farm animals like cows, donkeys, chickens, horses and also many types of wild birds like loros of all types, chorchas, zorsales, sinsontles, guarda barrancos, urracas to mention a few. Also, you will see foxes, wild cats, turtles, squirrels and others.
In Los Arados we are such a blessed area. We are surrounded by water. Beautiful river pools, asequias (small water flows that are built to provide water to the population, they look like water streams which flow through out different properties). You can enjoy in a few minutes away from Selva verde a pine forest and the reserve area of Las Serranias Dipilto y Jalapa. If you like to walk or ride your bicycle a little higher, you will enjoy it a deep forest with beautiful deep green color and more flora and fauna for your eyes to see.

Hello, my name is Oscar M. Reyes, I have been living here in Los Arados since May of 2017. I am originally from Managua. After the Sandinista Revolution, my family decided to leave the country and went to the US. I lived there until October 2016 when I decided to come back to Nicaragua and find a beautiful place in the mountains to start a new adventure.
Here I am at 55 years old living in the Mountains with a river and all kinds of animals as my neighbors. We all live here very happy. Of course I have a dog and chickens and I hope to have other animals as we go along.
When I saw this place, I knew this was it and I also knew that I wanted to share this experience with others. I try to live a simple and solid life, I practice Buddhism, I follow Thich Nhat Hanh ( Zen Master) and I also do yoga. I practice Pranayama, power, cross training. I also eat dairy products and fish. If you and a group are into these practices, I would welcome discussing the possibility of a retreat here at Estancia Selva Verde. If you are vegan or eat meat product, we can accommodate also.
I would like to have as guests all kinds of people. I think the place here is great for people who like meditation, yoga, mountain bike, hiking, and so on. I don’t want to create a noisy environment, and I want to be very careful about how much a guest would drink alcohol. I don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable.
There are two staff member as of now. Mauricio helps me with cooking and cleaning while the other Oscar assist with the garden. I have some of my neighbors willing to be a guide to those who want to go and explore the area further. If you want to go in a vehicle, I will drive you, no problem. There are beautiful places all over.
