Tinos Blue House is located in a quiet, pedestrian-only village. It looks out to sea and fifteen Cycladic islands from large picture windows and a private, shaded terrace. The Aegean sky and sea penetrate the space, merging with the tranquil shadings of its ceilings, walls and floor. There is a fully-equipped modern kitchen, a spacious bathroom, and a king-size bed. A nearby restaurant is two minutes by foot from the house. A short drive takes you to three beautiful beaches. We welcome everyone.

The space
Tinos Blue House is a typical Cycladic village house in the heart of one of the most beautiful of the many villages on the island, with thick stone walls, the exterior painted a typical village white. The apartment is 60 square metres in area, with a 15 square metre shaded terrace. It was fully renovated in 2018. The decor is modern and minimal, with Italian kitchen tiles, Turkish kilims, marble and ceramic sculpture, Greek and Danish furniture, and atmospheric, indirect lighting. There is air conditioning, a Norwegian electric in-floor heating system, and an Italian porcelain wood stove for year-round comfort. The interior has been painted in tranquil shades of blue.

Where you’ll be

Tinos, Greece

Tinos Blue House is located in a typical Tinos Island village - one of the most beautiful of the island's 45 inhabited villages. The village is small and picturesque, with expansive sea and mountain vistas. There are no cars in the village. All of its streets are narrow and pedestrian-only, which means the village is a quiet, tranquil place. The rental property is about a five minute walk from the parking area. (We can help you with your baggage.) The village is an old Cycladic white village, perched on a mountainside at about 250 metres about sea level. The population here is small and there is little noise, apart from the sounds of goats and sheep in the nearby terraced fields, birdsong, and a local mountain spring just below the house. At night, there is little light pollution, so an extraordinary array of stars - and the Milky Way - are often clearly visible from the terrace. There is a good small restaurant serving typical island dishes, that serves also as a shop with basic supplies, about a two minute walk from the house. People here are friendly and welcoming. It is an exceptional and extraordinary place; a place of great tolerance and acceptance; a place that makes one better for its openness and welcome embrace. There are wonderful beaches nearby, easily accessible by car (about a ten minute drive), but also reachable by foot following an old stone path down the slope from the village to the water's edge. (Pease note that the return by foot is more time-consuming, as it involves an uphill climb.) There is a supermarket in a larger village about ten minutes' drive away. The main town of Tinos is 16 kilometres away, or about 20 minutes' drive, and has a wide array of shops, supermarkets, noted restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as museums, a cultural centre and the most important pilgrimage church in Greece. There are several world-renowned vineyards on the island, so it is possible to drink really outstanding local wines. Something else the Tinos Blue House offers: the services of a locally-based chef for private in-house dining. He trained and received his diplomas at the famous Cordon Bleu Cooking School in Paris. If guests desire, he is available, for an additional fee, to prepare a menu suited to quests' requirements, prepared with local, fresh ingredients from a certified organic fruit and vegetable garden, belonging to the property, as well as locally-sourced fish, fowl and meat. The bespoke dinner can also be paired with outstanding and internationally acclaimed local Tinos wines, both red and white.
