Fully private, light, spacious, 900 sf open plan suite: fireplace, central heat, a/c, full kitchen with all the amenities, work desk, 150 Mbps wifi. French doors open on to a shaded 10’x16’ deck which overlooks the garden. 48" flat screen for streaming from your device. The 14 day stay limit may be extended/renewed.

The space
Built in 1905, the church suffered through decades of neglect before we purchased it in 2011. We are doing all renovation work ourselves and are pleased to be breathing new life into a beautiful, historic structure that would otherwise have succumbed to either a wrecking ball or the elements. Please come and enjoy.

This 1,500 acre wetlands habitat is famous for the large population of Sandhill Cranes which winter there – October through February.

San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area (3/4 hour west)
One of the most important riparian areas in the United States, the San Pedro runs through the Chihuahuan and Sonoran Desert transition zone. It is home to 84 mammal species, 14 species of fish, 41 species of reptiles and amphibians, 100 bird species and provides invaluable habitat for 250 species of migrant and wintering birds.

Slaughter Ranch/Bernardino Ranch (1/2 hour east)
An historic ranch, it is significant for its association with the beginning of cattle ranching in southern Arizona and northern Mexico. Also known as the Slaughter Ranch, it was the home of Old West lawman John Horton Slaughter from the 1880s until his death in 1922. The compound includes the preserved ranch house, wash house, icehouse, granary and commissary.

Tombstone (50 minutes northwest)
Tombstone is known for its Wild West history. On Allen Street, the O.K. Corral Outdoor Theater re-enacts the 1881 gunfight between the Earps, Clantons et al. Resident ghosts are said to haunt the bullet-riddled Bird Cage Theatre and outlaws are among those buried on Boothill.

Gleeson-Turquoise Mine ruins (3/4 hour north)
Though several families still live in the area, Gleeson-Turquoise is, by all measures, a ghost town. Visitors can find the ruins of a hospital, saloon, cemetery, jail and the foundation of the village school. Evidence of the extensive mining may be found in the surrounding hills.

Coronado National Forest (1hour west)
The Coronado National Forest covers 1.78 million acres (7,200 km2) throughout the mountain ranges of southeastern Arizona. Great hiking.

Arizona Sky Village/ Portal, AZ (1 hour 10 minutes northeast)
The Arizona Sky Village provides astronomers with clear, dark skies. Its location was chosen with astronomy in mind but it is also one of the premiere bird-watching sites in North America. It lies at the mouth of Cave Creek Canyon on the east side of the Chiricahua Mountains.

Kartchner Caverns State Park (1hour 25min northwest)
The park features 2.4 miles (3.9 km) of passages. Long hidden from view, the caverns were discovered in 1974 by local cavers, assisted by a state biologist who helped in its preservation.

Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico. (5 minutes on foot or by car)
The church lies just 4 blocks north of this city of 150,000. Depending on schedules, tours may be arranged. For the medical tourists, well-trained doctors, dentists and pharmacists abound.
