Still Waters Cottage is cozy and warm...400 square feet with a bedroom, bath and full kitchen. Say hello to serenity you can only imagine. You have access to a private back porch and yard as you go out french doors. You also have access to the common grounds for the entire property that includes grill, hot tub, fire pit with real wood and table for picnic by pond. two swinging chairs from tree, one hammock hanging between two trees, two floating chairs with gas fire pit by pond.

The space
We continue to receive 5 star reviews from our guests and are happy to have been awarded the status of "Super Hosts." We have a coffee maker with filers and high quality coffee ready and waiting for you. Grab your cup and watch the blue herons and Canadian geese fly into the pond as you relax by the real wood fire pit. You might even spot a bald eagle on a limb or one of our two resident owls during the summer and fall.

The cottage has both a shower and a claw foot tub for a relaxing bath. We provide plush robes for lounging and heading over to the hot tub, along with special hot tub shoes. Our bath towels are luxurious, top of the line. The bed is also so comfortable with microfiber sheets and cover. Guests constantly ask us about the sheets.

We also have a washer/dryer in the cottage for your convenience for your personal belongs. Anything that relates to the cottage is washed by your hosts...please place your towels, sheets, etc. in the plastic bags provided and put on the porch of the main house. We have additional towels and sheets inside the cottage ready for your use.

Got guests in a wheelchair who might be visiting you while you stay with us? We have portable wheelchair ramps that adjust to various widths of wheelchairs. We aren't officially wheelchair accessible due to those qualifications, but we can get you into the cottage for a visit.

This property is unique for its proximity to both Canada and the US and gives you the opportunity to both snow ski and golf on the same day. Located just ten minutes from the Peach Arch border in the Pacific Northwest of WA, we've been renting it out for years before coming online with Airbnb. Our friends insisted! :)

We are 420 friendly; however, the designated area is by the pond.

We checked "No animals allowed;" however, If you have small (less than 20 pounds) non-shedding dogs (no cats), inquire with us and we will review each situation case by case. You have the right to ask, and we reserve the right to say "No."

Hi Dotti! I guess Airbnb doesn't accept reviews after 14 day. Ugh. I'm sorry I didn't post a review in time. Anyway, here is what I tried to post:
"Stillwater cottage was a sweet oasis to retreat to for a few days. The cottage was decorated and equipped with thoughtful care and guest comfort in mind which made our stay so relaxing! For example, robes and bath shoes to for outdoor hot tub use. Before arriving I had mentioned that our stay was part of my birthday getaway and when we arrived there was a bottle of wine, a card and pot of beautiful blooming tulips waiting for me. This is just one of many examples of the tremendous warmth and hospitality we experienced from Dotti and Roby. They are lovely people who have created a special place there at Stillwater Cottage and staying there and meeting them left us feeling full of appreciation and gratitude."

Being only 1 mile from the beach + a panoramic view of both water and mountains just 10 minutes away at Semiahmoo Resort, make Birch Bay unique and special. Bring your bikes if so inclined. Wonderful for cruising up to Vancouver in Canada. It's a golfers' paradise with courses at Semiahmoo Resort, just 10 minutes away. The resort also has dancing and bands outdoors by the bay on Fridays and Saturdays during the summer and early fall. Take a picnic or enjoy their buffet. Make sure you get a reservation for their buffet and dining at Packers or Pierside Kitchen overlooking the water. They also have a great spa for a facial and a massage.

We (Dotti & Roby) love traveling and meeting people. It's through our shared stories that we glimpse one another's humanity and grasp our deepest connections. Our differences are to be celebrated as they make us uniquely distinctive with much to learn from one another; however, our differences must be transcended when they separate us vs unite us.

We enjoy Pickleball, ballroom dancing, hiking, visiting new places and experiencing different cultures.

We treasure our sweet Baylee Joy (red standard poodle who turned one on Dec. 19, 2017) and have now welcomed her mother, Willow, into our home.

After Two Women & a Poodle took a year-long journey, Gay Into Straight America, in 2005-06, we realized that as much as we enjoyed other places, our favorite destination is the Pacific NW, especially with the home we now have with a cottage we can put on airbnb.

Our life motto is one from our year-long journey, and it's a blueprint for how we continue to live our lives: We are committed to Engaging Heart & Minds, Creating Authentic Connections & Transcending Differences that separate us.
