The atmospheric detached charming property

If you love atmosphere, charm and privacy, our unique detached romantic historical property is really something for you. The Apple Tree Cottage dates back to 1800 and measures 40m2. It was refurbished and completely renovated in early 2018, fully adapted to the requirements of this time while retaining charm. On the ground floor, with historic tiles, there is a modern fully equipped kitchen, dining table, and bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. On the floor with oak parquet and open original beamed ceiling is a lovely double bed (1.60m) and sitting area with two comfortable chairs and TV (Netflix, Fox Eredivisie). Upon request a rollaway bed (extra 20€).The cottage is sunny and has beautiful views of our charming inner city garden (which you can share) and is located in the middle of the historic center of Gouda.

Unique location on the Turfmarkt

Located on the most beautiful canal of Gouda (recognition 2020), a 1-minute walk to the shopping streets, the historic Gouda market with its town hall, St. Janskerk and all other tourist attractions. Of course, the cozy catering facilities of the Golden City are nearby. The property is accessible from the canal via our own enclosed alley and is quietly located in our atmospheric inner city garden with an old English apple tree as its centre.

Even though we sometimes rent The Apple Tree Cottage per night, the experience shows that a stay of several days is desirable to make the most of our location. Gouda is the perfect place to visit The Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Delft, Leiden and even Amsterdam. And of course the nearby pond area Reeuwijk and the polders and Kinderdijk.

Marleen en Jos hebben beiden een carriere als strategie en marketing adviseur en bewonen met veel plezier hun monumentaal grachtenpand in het centrum van Gouda. Begin 2018 hebben we met veel energie ons vrijstaande verwaarloosde achterhuis compleet gerenoveerd. We vinden het nu leuk om daar een diversiteit aan gasten te ontvangen en te laten genieten van ons stekje de Apple Tree Cottage en onze klantgerichtheid en gastvrijheid in de praktijk te brengen. Sinds we in Gouda wonen hebben we ook een sfeervol familiehuis direct gelegen aan de prachtige Reeuwijkse Plassen. The Outpost hebben we in 2019 opgeknapt en verhuren we sindsdien af en toe zodat ook anderen van dit unieke heerlijke plekje kunnen genieten.
