Summer is well on the way here at Uppsala Farms Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary! This Airbnb listing is a getaway that unplugs our guests from social media & the internet. (Verizon Wireless customers can access internet via phone)
We are a great place to reconnect to nature & break all ties to the outside world. We are located 18 miles from the nearest town in either direction & about a 1 hour drive from Trinidad Colorado.

The space
All of our AvitaS Gift guest's know the real deal about this listing as they have all already been here on previous visits. The only changes to this listing is the name.
An 80 acre cannabis friendly place to stay at but NOT a party house. Wizard, the host, lives at the dome but you'll have complete privacy in your own private section of the house.
The guests kitchen has all the amenities to prepare delicious meals & you can get groceries at Ringo's Market in either Aguilar or Segundo on the way up. They have an awesome butcher & custom seasonings for grilling. Wizard has a small BBQ grill guest's can use too but you'll need to get charcoal.
There is a small TV & some DVD movies in the guest quarters but you'll need to bring your DVD player to plug into that TV.
During wet weather times 4x4 helps when it gets too muddy on rainy periods.

Due to extreme drought we cannot permit campfires. Sorry!
Due to the wildlife in the area we do not permit pets. Cougar, Bear, & Coyote live here & domestic pets can become prey for these wonderful creatures.
To keep out rates as low as possible we do not permit wifi use unless it's a bona fide emergency, so get ready to simply unplug for a time. Verizon Wireless is the only carrier that works up here, but there is a landline for guest's to use while here.

Uppsala Farms is a dedicated large area of space in The Spanish Peaks of Southern Colorado where Butterfly Weed Milkweed is farmed specifically for Monarch larvae to feast on & thus establish a breeding colony. U.S farming techniques have eradicated this important food source for the Monarch's babies & so there is a drastic decline in the population of Monarch's in the Mid-West. Uppsala Farms aims to help out those beautiful pollinating friends! This is all new for us here at Uppsala Farms & we look forward to sharing it with all of our previous guests of AvitaS Gift.

PLUS... a private 9 hole disc golf course & an archery course to enjoy BIG TIME right here! (Equip Required) Oh... & there is a newly opened 27 hole disc golf course not 45 minutes away too!
Into mountaineering? 16 miles away is the trail head to climb a 13000 foot mountain. The West Peak of The Spanish Peaks is one heck of a climb & will take an entire day to accomplish. Also, not far away is a massive 14er names Blanca to climb if you can make the trek!
Come spend some time watching elk in our meadow... Bears... Turkey. All come for a visit. The stargazing is TOPS here too! Dress warm! Nights are chilly.

We are located in Jarosa Canyon, in the middle of the Huajatolla Mountains and the Cucharas 20 miles from any civilization. A perfect vacation spot for traveling 420 friendly souls! The ancient bay that Uppsala Farms rests on is a forested heath surrounded by cliffs. Enjoy the seclude experience with nature from the disc golf course and hiking trails. Make sure you get enough gas BEFORE coming up! Nearest is 20 miles away from here...
