Fazenda São Benedito is located 18 km from the city of Araxá. The guest house underwent a restoration process in 2017. It was built between 1930 and 1933; it contains four bedrooms, two rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a large living area. The house is surrounded by a large backyard composed of native plant species and different fruit trees. In the backyard there are also two lakes, supplied by running water.

The space
Many birds can be seen on site (including jacunos and mutuns that mingle with chickens in the backyard). In the riparian forests that frame the headquarters of the Farm echo the grunts of apes, which can be heard even when they are in the vicinity of the houses.
Many other attractions typical of a Cerrado biome site can be enjoyed, as can be seen through the images of the local landscape.
It is possible to hike (in uncovered areas or under the vegetation of the cerrado), access the springs that the place has, enjoy a shower in running water, whose water precipitates at a height of 3 meters. For those interested in organic or agroecological production it is possible to manage the spaces of the backyard where organic food is produced are served at the table on a daily basis. The site is undergoing the so-called agroecological transition and is an ideal place to observe the diverse fauna and flora of the Cerrado biome and to live days of calm in a cozy and familiar environment.
In addition, guests can enjoy other attractions present nearby, such as the hot springs - present in the district of Barreiro, located 5 km from Araxá -, and the appetizing cuisine of Araxá. You can also visit other tourist attractions that are less than 100 km from Faz. S. Benedito, such as the Lost Horizon, the Archaeological Site of Peirópolis, the Grotto of Palhares and the Serra da Canastra.
Those responsible - residents and co-owners of Fazenda S. Benedito - José Carlos and Suely Corrêa will feel happy and honored with their accommodation or visit.

I'm a miner of birth, I lived in different cities: Sacramento/MG, Aparecida/SP, Campinas/SP, Sao Paulo/capital, Coimbra/PT and Cuiabá, MT. In the latter I resided for about 30 years.
I am a retired university professor and I worked at the Federal University of Mato Grosso, for 25 years. In 2017 I returned to my homeland, specifically to the place where I spent my childhood, childhood and part of my youth, located 18 km from the city of Araxá.
In 2017, the site's facilities went through a restoration/rebuilding process and are now being used for our villa, as well as for welcoming guests.
I'm married to Suely Corrêa, and I've been sharing the adventure of living for the past 40 years.
I really enjoy traveling. I've had the opportunity to be present in almost two dozens of countries, and I want to meet at least dozens of dozens in the next 10 years.
Philosophy, literature, and natural science are preferred reading topics. I love being close to natural environments and especially the practice of ecology.
I really enjoy good music, good wine and good cachaça and especially meeting and chatting with people.

Suely Corrêa, also a retired teacher, is active in complementary techniques (shiatsu, auriculotherapy, reiki...). He spent one time in Shimoda - Japan (an internship at Odo-jo Yoga Center). You like to chat, especially to hear personal stories, love and practice good cooking.
