We live on the countryside in an old mansion built in 1760 by Baron Nicolic, 36 km from Timisoara in a village called Rudna, next to the river Timis. The building needs to be renovated therefore only a small part is habitable. We have a couple of rooms which are simple but functional, cozy and rustic. The rooms are not separated from ours. We have one bathroom with toilet and two separate toilets.There is no kitchen for you to use, so we rent only with 2-3 meals a day. Price negociable.

The space
Please be aware, this is a farm with animals that also enter the house. Don't expect that it is very clean downstairs. If you can handle it you are most welcome if not please look for something else. We don't appreciate bad reviews on such things when it is explicitly said.

Our home is very special and people who come here love it. It can get really hot in the summer, so you could also be able to go for a day or night swim in the river. It is not more than knee deep and very warm. But we also have a lot of mosquitos, so don't forget to bring some anti-mosquito repellant if you can't handle bites. Most of the rooms have mosquito fences though.
We also try not to use a lot of chemicals on the animals, so flees are not a rarity. If you play with the animals rather shower in the night before going to bed insted of in the morning. Though it seems to be alright at the moment.

In the winter it can be very very cold, bring warm clothes and good boots. We have ovens in each room but also electric heat blankets in case you need it. Wintertime is also the time when we might have chickens, sheeps or other animals inside the house because when they are young it might be too cold for them in the shelter or outside.

Since it is a farm everything is more rough. Animals bring dirt into the house or workers with their shoes. We try to keep it as clean as possible but it s not like in a regular hotel or a city flat - it s farm life.

You can feel free to help with farm work :-) or just relax and enjoy your time here :-)

Please, don't smoke inside the house.
Maria who lives here during the whole year speaks Romanian and German. The workers speak only Romanian. Alice who is also here during the summer speaks Romanian, German, English, Spanish and some French.

We live in a small village typically for Romania. We have 3 'alimentara' which are small shops where you can get basic food, cosmetics and sweets. Walks are possible around the Timis, fishing is possible in the river or the lake which is next to the mansion. Suitable for cycle or motor bike tours.

Hello everybody, we are open, active and friendly people who are looking forward to welcome likewise people into our home. Our daughter Alice is helping to manage this account and bookings, she speaks 4 languages. We love animals and work & life on the farm, cooking, decorating, painting and building and developing things from nothing. We have several nice people working and living here too. Our home is very simple, no luxary or fancy extras, but the rooms are decorated with love and we try to take very good care of our guest.
If you are visiting the region, are on a motor bike or bike tour, if you want some time out from the city and enjoy the simplicity of a small little village and animals, if you are interested in ancient history and culture you are perfectly right here. During your stay

We are around almost the whole time, so are our workers. So we can make you a nice Romanian breakfast or other meals upon consultation. Most of the food, vegetables, eggs and meat is from our farm. We make you the same fresh food we eat and what is available. If the chickens don't lay eggs we re afraid there will be none but we have a lot of alternatives.
