The flat is one of four in the chalet, with neighbors above and below and one on the same level. Walls are thick but discretion still appreciated.

Shoes off at the door is appreciated.

Swiss recycling is strictly enforced, and household and kitchen rubbish MUST be placed in taxed bags, available for sale on the street level of the Coop store.

There are recycling centers for glass, PET plastic etc in the Coop food store parking lot and Coop lower level + across from the cinema which located a block behind the Loro Piana clothing store which is across from the Olden hotel ( on the main pedestrian-only Promenade).

No FOOD down the sink please, use the rubbish. The disposer is no longer there, even though the sink opening is not covered.

Bicycle and hiking trails abound and are well-marked, with excursions to the neighboring village of Saanen an easy 40-minutes on foot. Mountain bike and electric bike rentals are available. The tourist office can offer loads of fantastic suggestions for activities in the area.

Besides skiing in winter, Gstaad is full-on in summer, hosting a regular stop on the international beach volleyball circuit as well as ATP 250 tennis event in July.

There is also a classical music festival each August, an international polo event and the annual Country Night weekend in September.

A five-minute walk away is the Arc-en-Ciel restaurant with food ranging from foie gras to pizza to traditional swiss dishes. Dine in or take away.
