Sugarland Farm is located at 210 Sugarland Way. It was built as a large family home in 2011. It is a 5700 square foot French country home on 12.5 acres that is only 12 minutes to the interstate and approximately 15 minutes to the WVU Health Sciences Center campus and Football Stadium. The farm has goats and chickens to watch as you enjoy the countryside. The farm is at the end of 1/2 mile of gravel road and beyond the farm is hundreds of acres of mountainside.

The house is on 12.5 acres but neighbors are visible. There is a catch pond down over the hill from driveway where you may see frogs and tadpoles. Black berries and raspberries grow on the land and can be picked by tenants as they desire. They usually are ripening in early July. There is a swing set with slide and sandbox also.

Laurie and her husband Pat built Sugarland Farmhouse and lived in it full-time until most of their 13 children were off to college. Laurie spent many years studying decorating, and planning large family gatherings in addition to her WVU Nursing Professor role. Her love of handmade crafts, country style, and caring for wellness of people is evident in every room in Sugarland! She believes in family celebrations and making life an occasion to enjoy. She is so excited that Sugarland has become what it was built to be.. place for people to gather, reconnect, unwind, and have fun and a safe haven for loving and appreciating animals. Laurie is striving now to expand the outdoors with apple trees, plans for a blueberry grove, and a mini-vineyard! We have five goats and about 40 chickens so farm eggs are a plus!
