Where you’ll be

Rhynie, Scotland, United Kingdom

The village of Rhynie is located at the very heart of Aberdeenshire, and is perfect for touring the region, with distilleries, castles and hills, all within a short drive. The village is small and friendly and we are fortunate to still have a small local corner shop - if you can, please support them even with a small purchase. Rhynie is famous for its pictish stones, one of which, called Rhynie Man, is particularly famous. Recent archeological digs have established that Rhynie was most likely home to ancient Royal Picts, who traded with communities from all over modern day Europe. Rhynie is also famous for a fossil known as Rhynie Chert, and for the ancient vitrified hill fort on the hill Tap o' Noth which is a significant feature of the community.
