When you are inside the cottage, you have the sensation of being on a boat as all you see is water. Our beautifully decorated cottage, nicknamed "The Cabbage", is situated on amazing Bridge Lake facing due west with all day sun. It's the perfect spot for relaxing on the dock, swimming, or fishing for Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout or Kokanee. Wildlife is abundant with deer, fox, otters and eagles often seen. The calls of the loons will gently lull you to sleep at night. The sunsets are stunning!

The space
The cottage has two bedrooms.. All bedding and towels are provided. The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher and a microwave. The open plan living/dining area has a sofa and love seat with a comfortable ottoman for putting up your feet. There is a dining table as well as bar stools at the peninsula for formal or casual dining. If the evening gets chilly, you can relax by the cozy wood stove. The bright bathroom features a roomy glass shower. The mudroom keeps your shoes and coats contained and with heated floors the snow melts quickly in the winter time. The best feature of all though is the 180 degree view of the lake from the main area of the cottage - whether you're preparing a meal, eating, or just relaxing on the sofa, you will never tire of staring out at the lake and marvelling at the sunsets. Many of our guests have commented on the amazing views in their reviews - please take a look!

Where you’ll be

Lone Butte, British Columbia, Canada

The Cabbage is conveniently minutes off the highway on a paved road but it seems like a world away. The area is very quiet where the only sounds are the wind rustling in the leaves and the calls of the loons. The neighbouring house appears to be close, as there are no trees between it and the parking area, but the cottage is very private when inside, on the deck or on the dock.

There are hiking trails throughout the nearby Bridge Lake Provincial Park, at the end of Centennial Road as well as the Bridge Lake Ice Caves. It is only a 45 minute scenic drive to Clearwater which is the entrance point to the world famous Wells Gray Park, which is known for its 39 waterfalls and incredible hiking through wildflower meadows. If you're travelling between Jasper and Whistler, The Cabbage is roughly at the midway point, making this a perfect stop-over spot.

I love my home on beautiful Bridge Lake. I live here full time, but as I also do a bit of travelling, I like to share my home, when I'm not here, with people who also have a love of peace, tranquility, and amazing sunsets.

During your stay

I won't be there to greet you but am only a phone call or text away should you have any questions or concerns. The keyless entry means that check in is very simple. I will text you a code within a few days of check in.
