We are looking forward to welcoming you to Marianne Cottage at Johnsfort House. This recently renovated stone cottage is cosy and inviting especially with the sun shining on the patio or the stove lit inside. The exposed stone walls, limestone hearth and deep blue painted walls are just some of the features of this beautiful cottage. Across the courtyard is Bartholomew's Loft (go to Airbnb Bartholomewsloft), an upside down space, another fabulous place to stay in the heart of The Boyne Valley.

The space
We have excellent WiFi in the cottage with download speeds of 50Mbps and upload speeds of 17 Mbps, an ideal base for joining up holidaying and working from home.

We have recently renovated Bartholomew's Loft just across the courtyard from Marianne Cottage. This two bedroom upside down space has to be seen. It is truly gorgeous with its floor to ceiling window and filling the space with light. We often have guests from the same family or group of friends renting both the loft and the cottage so they can have time away together with lots of space. Please look it up on Airbnb 200 year old Bartholomew's Loft at Johnsfort.

More than 200 years old, Marianne cottage is a 2 bedroom cottage newly renovated with lots of modern luxury while retaining its old cottage feel and pre-existing limestone walls and cut stone arch. It has 1 double bedroom, en suite and 1 twin/double depending on what you want. There is a large open plan, fully equipped kitchen living dining area.

The cottage forms part of an old farmyard with an abundance of old stone buildings. Our country cottage is a very spacious 80m sq with many interesting unique features. The main room boasts a huge stove with as much firewood provided as you wish. It is perfect for those cold winter nights and cool summer evenings. It has a cathedral ceiling giving it a nice airy feel and architectural features such as the original exposed stone arch and steel beams and sliding doors giving it some industrial charm.

The main bathroom features a bath and power shower. Perfect for the muscles after a days walking, cycling or fishing. Both bedrooms are the same size. The main one being ensuite with a wetroom.

The cottage has an oil boiler which means its always warm and lots and lots of hot water from our well. We have our own spring well so the water is perfect for drinking and tastes lovely. There are modern comforts in the cottage with vintage character throughout, every room revealing some distinctive features.
